You comment isn't appreciated or useful. I've got a bunch of new surplus grease gun mags still in wrappers I bought when you were likely still shitting diapers.

I was just looking for a possible use for them when you trolled in.

One of these is going in the Rover's cargo hold today... I was followed yesterday by a couple scumbags. Pulled in a Target parking lot, got out with the CZ P-01 and they realized the mistake and immediately sped off...

@PFran42 where did you find the HK style sights? I am assuming they zero'd just fine for you?

My MPX didn't come with irons and the ones I got appear to be for the MCX or 5.56 rifles. Can't zero my elevation with the adjustment range.

Thanks @RDTCU I think you are right! I knew they looked familiar but couldn't place the mfg. Boy they aren't cheap, but guess quality never is. If HK made them they'd probably be 5x in price.

@delta_romeo_echo

It’s been a long time but I got these from RobertRTG. I think I had to source a different barrel drum for the rear. I remember it was a long tedious process.

Edit:

These sights are designed for the HK 416 uppers. The Centurions were designed for a standard M4 upper.

RTG now offers the same BUIS set without the read drum diopter. So now you can purchase that set and then pick the rear drum that works best with your platform.

You’ll need a specialty HK rear sight tool as well...

Magpul Pros look great on a PDW. You can find sets on EE often for $120-125.

Looks neat, and you might remember not to toast your fingers - your buddy when he borrows it for a mag dump might not be so successful.

Watched a guy almost pull the trigger on my FPG with his finger over the muzzle, before 3 of us yelled in unison...
I did warn him beforehand but he was trying to make a cool video...

Can we get the details on this build? I am really liking it.

Loving all the builds honestly. Great inspiration for the shorty 300 blackout I want to build when my first can(YHM Resonator) finally gets approved.

Has anyone tried a resonator with the 300 blackout on a shorty barrel? How did it sound?

So why did you stop him?    You could paint little fingers on your forend - 9 more and you'd be an ace...

Particularly on short barrels, I'm quite in favor of flash cans, linear compensators & Krink brakes/Flaming Pigs.  Concussion may be fun, but it's not good for anyone's ears or your brain.

Recently started to rebuild the DDLES 9mm build.
Currently running a non-reciprocating side charger, 4.5” barrel, QC-10 handguard, Kaw Valley device.
Decided to get as short as I could and used an LWRC ultra compact tube, have a Heavy Buffer on the way with spring.
This lower has seen about 7500 rounds, it’s on its third facelift. AimPoint H1 on a ScalarWorks mount.

Inspired by the MARS, it won't be a clone though.  The SCAMP was a machine pistol in 5.56x29mm, predecessor to the MP7.  The MARS was a shortened AR in 5.56x30mm.  They also had the original Arm Pistol in .221 Fireball.  Bushmaster acquired that design and scaled it up to 5.56x45.

Yes, mag is 3D printed.

Milling the receivers from billet?  Or just chopping an upper and moving the rear lug and 3-D printing the lower?

There's a hybrid steel/plastic upper, you could keep the steel forward bit and just 3-D print the outside and rear.

it really is.. when I saw your first build come to fruition, I was thinking.. this guy needs to sell the designs to a specialty company who can CNC them out 10/day..

then I realized that was MY dream, not yours.. lol

Ok got some question.....many questions!

first off are you making the mags? COAL?

Are you looking to scale down the whole gun or just wanting .221 fireball in an AR?

If just wanting .221 have you considered making a derlin block with feed ramps profiled into it which could be drilled tapped and secured with 2 flush set fasteners on the front of the magwell?

if going the mars clone route remember if you shorten the receivers you will need to relocate the FCG rearward an equal amount. an 0% lower would afford more customizability but require alot more work. especially the mag well broaching.

none the less F-you that's cool and I need to quite bs'ing and finish mine first.

Yes, 1.830".

Scaling down the whole gun.  I wouldn't have gone to the trouble of making mags if I just wanted an AR in .221.

I'm debating shortening the BCG instead of relocating the FCG.  I do have a 0% lower I may use.
