Hell, I don't even need these but they are cool and I just ordered two sets.

Got "order completed" and an invoice number.

Seems like anytime I try to sell retro parts like this I get told there is a dumpster full of this stuff no more than a few blocks away.  Either that or people are really thankful because no one sells real colt parts ..... It’s best to invest in something else

Not me, I missed them, but the flippers will easily double their money if these really were NOS sets and not NIW rights paired with banged up lefts like you usually see.

Was there a photo in the ad before they sold out?

That's not the real thing. Those are the ones with the snap in heat shields.

At least that is what the picture is showing, who knows what they were actually selling.

Listed as "A1 Triangle Handguards New Military Surplus New Old Stock Not Reproductions ** Fits Retro Builds Perfectly*"

Then I think it said something about being manufactured 20? years ago and are overruns from then. Not sure about that since I cannot see the original add and my invoice does not have that extra language.

Interested to see what you get. It's a great deal if you get the the real thing.

Because we all know what Specialized Armament charges for these.

I got this email response after originally being told that they would have mine shipped out last Thursday or Friday. I cancelled my order and got a refund.

I was just told by our purchasing team that we will not get them in until the end of the week. To be honest, I'm not too sure when we will actually get those in.

Well, I won't be bothered if they are not authentic. I'm not a retro aficionado. I'll be happy enough to bastardize a rifle with a set.

I'll post pics when they arrive.

What was the problem with them?  The only thing I ever got from them was that C7 Upper, and it came in less than a week.

ETA: other than the uppers, I mean.

TNTE, AR15Sport, JSE Surplus, Fulton Armory and Luth AR seem to be selling the same reproduction A1 handguards as the ones pictured above (with the snap in heat shields). TNTE, Fulton Armory and Numrich are also selling carbine versions of these A1 handguards.

I kind of wonder how they compare to the Brownells reproduction A1 handguards.

It appears that there are currently three makers of reproduction A1 handguards if you include the ones on the Colt reproduction A1 rifles.

This is exactly the reason I won't order from them, too many of these stories.
I just seen Tigwelder's post above about the multiple business names,DTT seems shady as hell.

So, another one of those jokers who take your money and order the merchandise from somebody else.

"within 5 business days" is the classic response.

Awww man. I’m sorry to hear that. I guess we should have known, since they previously advertised those C7 uppers as “US Military Contract Mfg.”  Wait. What?

Have you given any thought to returning them, or is it too much of a PITA for what it's worth? I thought about canceling my order but I've been on the road and let it slip.

I'll keep them, but I will never do business with them ever again. The HG's are nice, but they aren't what I ordered, and I could have bought reproductions cheaper if I was looking for them.

As far as reproductions go are they any good? Do you happen to have a set of the Brownells A1 handguards to compare them to?

I don't have any Brownell HG's to compare them with sorry. Maybe Brownells will mail me a set and I can do aside by side for you guys.

I have written twice to cancel my order. Even their commitment to have them in 5 (more) business days has gone unfulfilled.

Tough noogies. I'm in the driver's seat. I feel a credit card challenge coming...

EDIT: Order has been cancelled and a refund issued.

Not AR related, but I ordered a slide for Glock 19, the machining is off enough that the characteristic gap between the slide (stainless steel) and the frame (plastic) you could read the newspapers thru the gap. On a factory assembly there is a small gap, this is 3 times that.
Their AR hand guards (railed type) are so very poor quality it's embarrassing to have on loaner or truck guns.
