It's a CMMG complete gun. I got it about 4-5 years ago, it's a 14.5" with pinned A2, barrel is 4150 MP tested and chromelined. I don't think they make this barrel any longer and that's a shame  , this gun has been near 100% reliable and extremely accurate.

I understand the A2X brings a 14.5" barrel over 16" but what exactly is the length of A2X itself?
Vltor VC-1 measures 2 1/8" MICOR 1:7 measures 2" YHM Phantom measures 2 1/4" I've searched BCM's website and the entire WWW and couldn't find an answer. |

My frankenrifle:
-BCM Lightweight 14.5"/Pinned A2X Upper -Colt BCG/CH -CMMG Lower/CMMG LPK -MOE Furniture and MBUS Sling is on order, still trying to decide on an optic. The carbine is so light and handy now, I don't want anything heavy. Perhaps an Aimpoint H-1 (more likely a PA Micro until I find some spare cash).

For a slightly different take, I had the 16" HBAR in my 6721 cut back to equal 16" with the original A2 FH. ADCO did this for me and because of their excellent crown work, it actually shoots better than it did with the original crown. I did this because I like the HBAR and also like the look of the A2 rather than an extended FH. But any way you cut it, a true carbine with 16" total barrel looks a lot better than one with the extra barrel length in front of the hand guard.

Bushmaster A2, originally a "Patrolman's Carbine."
Barrel cut, threaded, and crowned to 14.5". SDI extended A2 pinned and welded. I did the work myself. Magpul MOE stock, handguard, trigger guard, and grip with CR123A battery storage insert. Cantilever rail from MOE illumination kit mounted on far side for light. Light is a SureFire 6P with a Solarforce 300 lumen module, in a GG&G mounting ring. Ikickhippies' SLAP sling plate.

Top (mine)= LE6920 complete lower with Geissele SSA, Colt upper with 14.5" SOCOM with pinned vortex, KAC RAS, etc. Bottom (Wife's)= Home built LRB lower with RRA kit and two-stage match trigger, Colt LE6920 complete upper (taken from the lower up top). ETA: verbage.. |
