I love these. I passed up on a chance to buy a NIB DR-200 a few years ago, because I was afraid of breaking something and not being able to find replacement parts. I am still kicking myself in the ass over that. |

Do you notice much of a difference with the mid-length gas system on the 14.5? building a parts list for the ladys first ar15 and im thinking mid-length 14.5 for light weight and easy control. |
With the exception of the A2, I can't tell any difference between the 14.5s versus any of my 16s performance wise, but look wise, 14.5 is the way to go. The A2 is super light, affecting the overall feel versus the rest of my AR collection, except my SBRs and Pistol. It does give me a bit more muzzle rise, but felt recoil feels reduced, IMO. Now midlength versus carbine, I do feel a slight bit less recoil on the Middys, but it's hardly notieable, and performance wise, they are performing the same as the carbines, but I still do prefer a middy to a carbine any day, I just like having a longer sight radius.
It seems the longer sight radius is the most noticeable benefit. Never fired a mid-length yet but figure I might as well do something different from the rest of the collection.
