Where did you get that 3 prong flash suppressor? looks great.

It's a standard USGI three prong flash hider, it's pinned on the 14.7in barrel so it brings it to 16.1 overall length.

Your rifle is seriously awesome,    What brand of paint/coatings did you use on your barrel, upper, lower?   What BUIS do you have on there?

Thanks!
I painted the upper, lower and barrel with oven cure OD Cerakote.
The BUIS are Knights Armament Micros.

That's too funny! I was going to post a picture of my BCM pinned A2X but now I have to wait for my dog to take a dump before I can take the picture.

Thanks.    I was looking around in the Air Force carbine section of Retroblackrifle, saw a pic of one, loved the look, had to build one.

Love these "old school" CAG clones.

If I had the cash to build one, I'd make one myself, sexy as hell, even if some of it is "old-tech."

DR-300 cut and pinned to 16", lowered scope rail, Stormwerks stock adapter with Nordic Components collapsible stock.  The grip is original, but I "detached" it from the thumb hole stock and sanded everything smooth.  There's a before and after pic in this thread.

I love these.

I passed up on a chance to buy a NIB DR-200 a few years ago, because I was afraid of breaking something and not being able to find replacement parts.

I am still kicking myself in the ass over that.

Very nice, I am putting one together as well but I think I may go A2 upper.  I have been issued it in both configurations, but I think the A1 was more prevalent.

Nice collection. Do you notice much of a difference with the mid-length gas system on the 14.5? building a parts list for the ladys first ar15 and im thinking mid-length 14.5 for light weight and easy control.
Link Posted: 11/29/2011 8:29:14 AM EDT
[Last Edit: Medicfrost] [#46]
With the exception of the A2, I can't tell any difference between the 14.5s versus any of my 16s performance wise, but look wise, 14.5 is the way to go.  The A2 is super light, affecting the overall feel versus the rest of my AR collection, except my SBRs and Pistol.  It does give me a bit more muzzle rise, but felt recoil feels reduced, IMO.  Now midlength versus carbine, I do feel a slight bit less recoil on the Middys, but it's hardly notieable, and performance wise, they are performing the same as the carbines, but I still do prefer a middy to a carbine any day, I just like having a longer sight radius.
Link Posted: 11/29/2011 10:47:06 PM EDT
[#47]
It seems the longer sight radius is the most noticeable benefit. Never fired a mid-length yet but figure I might as well do something different from the rest of the collection.

You'll like the midlength.  I have a hard time building carbines at all ever since doing my first middy.

My contribution:

S&W M&P 15 Sport, original upper receiver replaced with BCM M4 receiver;
Barrel cut to 14.5" by ADCO with pinned Rainier XTC;
Magpul MOE stock;
Eotech XPS2-0.

This is my beater; I use it for 3-gun, training, and plinking.  Also have a Colt that would fit in this thread; I'll try to get a pic of it in here later.
