ADCOR BEAR. It didn't get much love when it was first released, and I never understood the hate for it.   I've had this one for a few years, and I still like it a lot even with some of the other additions to the collection (ARX, ACR, Bren, etc.).  Either the ACR or ADCOR would be my go to rifles if aliens invaded.

I love my ADCOR as well, I was a very early adopter (sub 100 serial number) bought mine the month they became available. I've thousands of rounds through mine, not sure how many exactly, but a lot. Upgrading from the original rail to their KeyMod rail and then rebarrelling to a 14.5 really brought mine up to the next level.

Mine is a Superlative pistol length solid system.  Seekins hand guard, law folding adapter, 7.5” SS 416 pistol barrel, Spikes barking spider comp and Magpul furniture.  The upper receiver and complete bolt carrier group have been coated in Nickel Boron.  I run the gun completely dry and it has run flawlessly for the 1K rounds its seen so far.  It’s also a dream to clean.  The adjustable gas block is a really nice feature, tune it to anything and don’t have to worry about matching a new buffer slug or spring like I did with my old Osprey kit.

First piston "AR". Just finished assembly(with exception to pivot pin; out-of-spec and don't have a spare).

AA P-series piston, KAK barrel (14.5" carbine).  had to restrict the gas port down from .096" to .082".

My M27 clone.  HK 416 buffer tube spring and H3 buffer operates perfectly.  Without can ejection @ 3-4 o'clock, with can 2-3 o'clock.  M193 ammo.  As good as a non-adjustable system gets IMO.

Home built 300 Blackout. Faxon enhanced upper, Faxon 9" Match barrel, AA pistol micro adjustable piston kit with LW carrier, Wolff LP spring and 1oz buffer. Lower uses the BCM ELPK.
Runs like a top on both subs and supers, with and without suppressor. It's great being able to adjust the gas for whatever round I'm wanting to use.

A lot of you are using hand guards that are listed as not piston compatible on the manufacturer's websites. Did any of you have to do modifications to the barrel nuts or anything else to get them to run?

Here is my contribution. My Sig 516 7.5" PDW braced setup.

Great little package for camping/backpack/car gun...its serves well for the purpose it was acquired for. The PWS Triad keeps things in check with flash and the piston system runs clean without being overgassed like many shorty ARs...ultimately....it will have a Dead Air Sandman-S on it next year.

My Adams Arms Micro Gas Block 12" SBR.

Started with a Ergo Grip Z Float Rail System (Spectre), which fit nicely, but was a bit heavy.

Replaced the rail with a Midwest Industries M-lok rail (MI-21M).

Much lighter, and it runs like a sewing machine, suppressed and unsuppressed.

Is it bad when this gets you more excited than your girlfriend of 12 years, anyone else got this problem? God I think you won the LWRC Fan Boy that collection but is that all piston, and did you have to do any of the converting yourself?

All 3 are factory Piston.

I also have
16" CSASS .308 currently on the EE
12.7" IC-A5 5.56 currently on the EE
And about 6 other LWRC guns most are piston and couple DI in my collection.

Not going to lie, that 6.8 piston is pretty fucking awesome, what's the max range you can push it out to? How well does it do say to 300 yards?
Link Posted: 1/16/2019 12:20:09 PM EDT
[#48]
I can hit a 10x10 plate at 200 yards from a bench. Farthest I've shot at this time.

85 grain pushing 2500 fps
90 grain 2450 fps
110 grain 2300 fps
115 grain OTM 2170 fps

You only gain 130-150 fps from a 10.5"
Hits to 300 are capable but might not expand or fragment from the 8.5"

Here is a old topic that I found to be very good and spot on about the 6.8 in a 8.5" and 10.5"
