Any off-the-shelf solution (low/reasonable cost) to mounting one of these on an AR?

Well, they already come with a mount for any FT rail system.  Do you have another requirement?

Yes, something tall enough to be usable on an AR, preferably lower 1/3 CW.

Greetings.  Anyone want to share their experiences on mounting a RDP-II on a .22; specifically a Buck Mark or Ruger MK III, or 22/45 MK III?

Received my units today; they cowitness perfectly with the ghost ring sights on my FN-SLP shotgun when I put the RPD behind the rear sight.

I've since switched the rear sight and put it behind the red dot; it works a lot better that way.

Yeah, this site doesn't like waffleimages for some reason.

How solid are these? could they survive a 2..3 or 8 foot drop And does any body have a pic of one mounted directly on top of an A3 upper? Thanks.

I just received an RDP-II today and have it mounted. I am using a JP 1" scope tube base with an adapter shim which adapts JP to Doctor, mfg. by Arredondo. The RDP-II fits it perfectly. I have secured the cover with a short lanyard to the scope base. I ordered a JP Guard which mounts between the base and the adapter. When get it zeroed in I will come back with a review. Looks good at this point.

Victor,
I thought I would post a photo of my somewhat unusual configuration that uses your RDP-II as a back-up option.  This is my Mk 14, mod 1:

The scope works well and it is certainly a great value for what you get.  Thanks for bringing this to the market.

Victor,
My review after installing and zeroing in the RDP-II:
1. I zeroed in the RDP-II in South East Arizona in the full sun and had no problem seeing the dot against any background, from very dark mesquite to bleached out desert sand.

2. The scope was very bright, and sharp.
Compared to my JPoint which is an 8 MOA, and installed on a Beretta Xtrema 2, I think the RDP-II is just as bright and has less flare around the Dot. They adjust in the same manner, but I like the locking feature of the RDP-II. I actually like looking through the JPoint better as there is no magnification and the lense is clearer with no tint. The big plus is that the RDP-II will do anything the JPoint does at about one half the cost.

3. Compared to my AimPoint Comp C3 4MOA that is on a quick R&R base, I think is comparing Apples and oranges and I wont try, but again the DRP will do almost  anything the Aimpoint will do at one third the cost.

Glad I bought it and would recommend it to anybody who wants a comparable Red Dot
at a fair price.

Thanks for your good service. and here is a photo of the completed installation with the JPoint Guard installed. Cover fits snug, but thats good.
Jerry

Sorry to hijack the RDP thread with the T1 (by the way I have 2 RDPs) one on Iraq and the other in T&E testing...which by the way is holding up awsome.

But the SAR HB-M-2 mount is great, low profile and just thought I'd share the T-1 with it

My manufactuer has shipped these housings world wide. The LED on ours is specifically unique to my specifications along with the mount and screws for the doctor bases. I went through dozens of LED prototypes with the units until I got the brightness and sharpness to were it needed to be. Hope this helps.  Thanks

Vic

i saw it on this Chinese defense contractor as well as a Pakistani one. But only as products they make for LE and Military and i didnt actually see them for sale. I was wondering because i was curious when i saw these. These companies even sell Eotech and aimpoints under their own names that are probably very similar if not identical in quality. I'm assuming these guys are a real armament company and not an airsoft suppliers hehe.

Like I said, when I saw these while doing a search I just had to ask.

Hi Victor

I have just a few questions.
will the red dot still stay on in near complete darkness.

Some with auto adjust go off in dark areas outside completely.

Also will this site work with a larue tactical low profile base , the base fits a pride fowler red dot.

I appreciate any info you can give, and do you have units in stock and can I call to order etc...

I need these to be really LOW on a FN PS90 top rail etc...

Thanks

Do you know if the RDP fits the same bases for the Trijicon Red-dot sight?  That's all that seems easily available for quick purchase.

If I may answer for MRAGU....He is using a Yankee Hill Off Set mount with the RDP. Hope this helps.

Thanks expect an order soon. By the way anyone knows where I can get protective wings for these?

SIMPLYDYNAMIC

I was looking at your pictures and there seems to be something wrong with the way the turrets on your scope are configured. The windage knob and the elevation knob are reversed. You have the elevation knob where the windage is supposed to be and vice versa. The elevation turret is the knob with the hash marks to determine every complete revolution.

If I mount one of these directly on my A3 rail, will I be able to use the sight or will my front FSB be in the way?  How high of a riser do I need to get over the front sight?  Thanks.
