What is the scope? |
| The sling is an old Specter SOP sling used on the rifle when it was an M16A4 clone, I've changed out most of them to CAS slings. Front QD sling adapter, it's an MI unit. I've used mostly KAC, but bought a few MI because they were cheap, they work very well. I recently got a Daniel Defense, it's better than the KAC adapters I have, it's flatter and has QD stud travel stops so the QD stud can't be rotated around and around. |
Nice weapon. I really wanted to do one but couldn't bring myself to pay that much for the KAC FFS.

So, you're looking for a SDM-R with a variable scope. No the FSB won't interfere with a magnified optic, unless in the lower power on some optics. |
I might say this looks like an Mk12 Mod1 sort of setup. No Ops Inc, but a gas block, with a KAC low pro front sight. Maybe a re-barrel?

its his personal Mk12 MOD O clone. he left the ops inc at home. he talkas about it in the brute rifle thread. the lower is and issued FA lower but the upper he brought from home. it is in several threads |
Duffy I love that gun. that scope looks terrific on that gun. is that a slabside colt lower? Am I wrong thinking the 1st MK12s and DMR's used existing A1 lowers? |

It cant be a Mod 0. Its a Mod 1. No ARMS 38 PEQ rail. Looks nice!

Here's mine - It's really a Fulton Armory Liberator with a 1-8 krieger barrel, Larue bipod attachment, harris bipod, arms rings, leupold 2.5x8 mark 4, knights rail covers, and a strap from a demo bag I snagged when we went to the demolitions range once.

| I have one more lower to build and I'm diggin' these SDM-R's. What are the specs on the uppers exactly? I have a stag lower built w /rr 2stage. I'm torn between one of these and a midlength, but was going to build the middy w/ a bipod etc. for varmints and such but wanted to keep it military looking and not so much like a varminter. |

What groups can they pull? @ 600 with one of these is much easier than one might think, when I have seen people with quite old and abused standard A2's consistently shoot well with iron sights from the 500.... As far as the Marine in the pic, he was probably like, sweet, a soldier that actually looks decent, I wonder if he wants to go in with me and removing this guy with an RPG I really dont feel comfortable around from this damn HESCO maze. Man, I love the way the "real" military weapons look. They have the look of a real veteran, long hours, don't care how they look because they do their job and they do it well. I just wish I had the cojones to "age" one of my guns like that.
Let's see....if I dump a 5 gallon bucket of rocks, a couple of buckets of sand and maybe a few lengths of rebar into the back of my pick-up then throw the gun in to the mix and then drive around for six months maybe, just MAYBE it might start to look like the real deal. Thanks to all you guys that have had to wear these down for real. Doc |

Doc They are worked over good, but they still do their job well.. heck the current Navy SEAL training class is down to 25 from the original 48 who started... only the best make it and keep on ticking (if they are injured they cant continue cause they may finish, but they can cripple themselves and them not perform the missions  )...
With use your guns too can look like that ....mine, well, they will spend their time in the safe as I try to finish school .....

Seems like my original pics of mine were deleted, so thought I'd repost SDM-R CMT upper and BCG, Douglas 20" stainless 1/8 match barrel, supplied and fluted under the handguards by Compass Lake Engineering Daniel Defense 12" rail, set screw FSB. RRA lower with Geisselle Match trigger Burris Fullfield II lighted reticle scope in Larue mount, Matech BUIS. I like this scope better than the tA31F for this rifle
