Thanks for the compliments, gentlemen! The gun started life as a box-stock SR-15 M4 many years ago and has gone through several changes in configuration up to this point. I'm really happy with the way I've got it now so it will probably remain so for a good while... Except for the VLTOR; I had a few problems with accidently hitting the adjustment lever while holding the toe in my shoulder (laying prone). I swapped the stock with the clubfoot on my other carbine and it fixed the problem, so... One interesting note: when I got the ACOG in I removed the old mount and installed the Larue; so with a new barrel, mount, etc I thought it would take several shots to get the ACOG dialed-in... It was dead-on at 100 yards with the factory settings. I couldn't believe it - I didn't have to move the dials a single click and was still dead-nuts POI/POA. It was meant to be... I just picked up some 77gr HPBT match and I can't wait to see what it'll do with better quality ammo. Thanks again all and stay safe, Clint |

LOL - no problem man. Trust me, I hear ya about the memory thing  If it makes you feel any better, my middy doesn't look quite like that anymore and soon I will be replacing the upper with an A3 because when funds allow, I will be mounting an ACOG. But I still have to have a KISS AR so I plan to use some spare parts plus some I'll have to pick up to make something very close to this...  (Sorry for posting a pic of a non-middy in this thread )

Here is my franken Recce. Crappy pic, but eh.  Specs are: RRA lower, internals, 2 stage trigger Magpul MIAD, XT's (not pictured), and their excellent triggerguard. Crane Clone Stock on a Vltor tube (I know, I know, but I am in college, and I plan to get a true LMT stock as soon as funds allow.) CMT Flattop upper Bushmaster Bolt carrier Noveske SS Recce barrel, 1 in 7 Polygonal rifling and matching bolt DD 9.0 WOA small parts. All purchased from dealers on the EE. Thanks for your awesome service, and prices that even a broke college student can afford. Gonna have to take new pics to do it justice. I'll add them here when I do. Future Upgrades: H1/2/3 buffer and new spring Gasbuster CH ACOG or some sort of optic. Any suggestions? Jewell or a tuned WOA trigger. Maybe a Geissele. Suppressor. |

 Bushmaster upper and lower - cause that is what I started with PRI Gas Buster - better charging handle, easier manipulation PRI front folding sight - favorite sight picture for irons CMT shrouded bolt carrier - shroud means little less wear and tear on firing pin collar and hammer Lilja 16" midlength 1/8 Recce barrel with matching bolt from MSTN - precision with midlength benefits. It is from MSTN, what else do I need to say? Magpul M93 stock - great stock, solid, adjustable and balances gun well. Sierra Precision grip - fills the hand and keeps trigger finger in the right place Daniel Defense 9.0 rail - lightweight but solid Troy folding rear sight - very nice folding rear sight Surefire G2 in 1" rings - not fancy; but lightweight and does the job TA11 ACOG in Larue DOS mount - great general purpose optic for all ranges Grippod (polymer) - mediocre bipod and great grip weighing in at only 7oz. total Specter Gear MOUT sling - simple and effective, easy to remove and attach weapon. |
