I agree, Redhook, as much as I like the Scout light at 6:00 in front of the Grip Pod on my CQB MRP, either knuckle or tape switch activated, the Surefire looks kick-ass. Almost like the two were made for each other. |

I just picked up a 16" C/L 6.8 barrel and standard bolt carrier with enhanced bolt for $460 on the EE. I just couldn't resist but my bank account is showing the effects of that and Christmas! But, $1200 all LMT gun is a pretty good price when most MRP uppers are usually around $1300 from what I've seen! Spooky |

How does everyone store their extra MRP barrels? I've seen some guys with a dedicated case with the foam cut for barrels, bolts, mags, torque wrenches, etc. Just wondering how others store their stuff. I'm thinking about building something out of PVC pipe to store both the barrel and the BCG. Any thoughts on this? Also, did anyone see pictures of the LMT piston? Chen Lee had a little write-up in his picture thread but no pictures. He said carbine length system first then the mids... Spooky |

Well other than the Eotech (I'm an Aimpoint/ACOG guy) and that dang full-auto thing (we all know how much ammo that wastes!) that's one of the nicest rifles on this forum! Awesome MRP, man! (I'm working on obtaining a select fire lower myself!) |

I finally got the 6.8 MRP barrel out today! A great time only slightly spoiled by a bum magazine. One of my two CProducts mags would not feed from the right side - everytime a round came from the right side it would basically stove-pipe in the chamber. My other mag ran flawlessly. Overall I'm impressed and need to sit down and see what the 16" C/L barrel will do accuracy wise! Spooky |
Thanks, Edwin, and again I must give Wes a lot of credit for coming up with suggestions for most of the loose ends that ended up on this gun. BTW, I too like the Aimpoints, and did consider one, but I set this gun up more for CQD, so the EOTech fit my needs. Where in GA are you? |

| My dealer actually had two in stock. They are marked 6.8-2000. It is just a regular M4-2000 that has been bored out to .370. I believe that the new way that AAC prefers to do it is to just bore out a 5.56 M4-2000 to take the larger round. I would contact Freddy and ask him what he can do for you. I would try to get it bored to .320 unless you want to shoot 7.62x39 through it. |
"Had"... Thanks for the info! I'm trying to get a few suppressors in the next year or so. The first will be an AAC 762SD so I can use it on a couple 7.62 rifles and my 6.8. I wonder why they went to .370 - that's much, much bigger than the .277 of a 6.8. On a separate note, I had a chance to shoot my 6.8 on a full-auto lower today - very awesome! The cyclic rate seemed much higher with my LMT MRP 6.8 16" chrome-lined barrel. Not too much more punch to the shoulder but a good deal more punch downrange. Spooky |

Ok, Spooky. Give s a more complete range report..  What accuracy testing did you do? FA dumps are always "fun"... I am trying to collate them with (accuracy) mine and others.

Not too much more to report. I have only shot reloads in my rifle but there have been 0 issues outside of a bad magazine that refuses to feed from the right side. Not much for accuracy testing going on but I was hitting the gallon jugs at 55 yards with ease. I was just too excited to get the chance to fire something full-auto, much less my 6.8. Didn't do full mag dumps but the cyclic rate was much higher. I'm thinking about testing it against my 5.56 barrel and see what happens to the 5.56 cyclic rate. Spooky |

Hello, newbie here. I just picked up a LMT Defender lower yesterday. Inside the shipping box was a nice color LMT brochure. On the page stating "barrel options" is a note stating, "multi-caliber and mulit-length options", and "5.56, 6.8, .204 Ruger, 7.62 X 39". I have not received an email back from LMT stating when the two new calibers will be available. I will update when LMT emails me back. Wes, that PEQ, Vital AND Atilla on the Art of War cannot be Airsoft?  No waaay? Of course I cannot see the underside of the PEQ or Vital, or the rear of the Atilla to know for sure....But I would not be careless enough (even in eye safe mode) to stick a camera directly in front of a real Class 3B laser!  (So maybe it is fake!) As for the Airsoft site....$2400 for a M4 SIR FAKE carbine in collector condition??? I just don't get it?  Guess that what happens in a communist society where the common citizens cannot have REAL firearms.

Well that is good to know, I was getting nervous for a bit! By the way, that was a Japenese web site forum offering all those "restricted items?" I did not install the language pack on my puter so I did not know for sure if those folk were selling that gear or where it came from. |
It's Chinese  I think the dude was posting pics and illustrations of the PEQ2A and VITAL2, not to sell them. I don't understand the pictures of the purple stuff, taken from the front end of the PEQ2A though, what are they supposed to show?  The text says something about DC and NV equipment not required to take pictures of the IR, but have to be very close. I dunno wtf the guy's talking about.
