FYI
I saw something on the ar15performance website for the “16" 5.56 Lightweight barrel, 4150 CMV, Wylde chamber” that I did not like. It states “These are lightweight combat type barrels not target barrels. Common accuracy with decent ammo is 3/4-1.5" at 100yds, 55gr FMJ can be worse.” Note: I bolded the preceding text. See: http://www.ar15performance.com/inc/sdetail/11562/14041 Buyer beware/informed. Other than this particular barrel ar15performance barrels seem to be very good, especially the “16" 5.56 Socom weight barrel, 4150 CMV, Wylde chamber”. And the prices are reasonable. |

I have looking at that SOCOM barrel - very nice. My next accurate build (if I do one) will have that ar15 performance SOCM barrel. However, be aware that it has 5/8-24 muzzle threading, NOT the standard 1/2x28. Not big deal just need to plan for the proper attachments. |

Spikes/FN 16" CHF middy barrel $269 shipped with pinned gas block at AIM
This is the same barrel i just used on my latest build an it is a good balance between a gov and LW profile, and a good price for a quality CVHF barrel with pinned gas block to boot |

That price is nice. This barrel is probably best suited for sub sonic rounds as the video implies. Note the pistol length gas block. I wonder if is chrome lined at that price. |

$275 for a White Oak Match Barrel SPR. Flutting would cost you an extra $100. Call them... they may be able to get you something. Easy to work with.
I really don't think you are going to save much weight with the flutting. It is More for looks. Link Here |

Everyone says out of stock / 6 months lead time....etc. I'd kind of like to get a barrel within the next 30-45 days or so. |

The problem is you don't know which ones. |
