The Tavors have a 1:7 twist right?  Did you guys ever use M193 or was it M855 all the time for the sharpshooters?

We had a few different loads we used, this just happened to be my green tip sheet. I hated the tavor more than I can ever put into words, I know the US market tavors have a 1/7 twist, I'm not sure if the issued ones are the same.

Meprolight M21 gooseneck. Israeli made.

Bushmaster update.  Painted the Meprolight RDS black, and put on a Surefire Scout light instead of the ProTac I had.  Also added an A1 grip.

Still waiting on the furniture and optic for my 2nd build from Zahal.

And the latest development on my second build.

Still waiting for the Emtan rear sight to come in, and think I'm going to go without the VFG.

Who's got the best price on a Meprolight M21? Any reason not to get one?

I notice you live in the desert.  The M21 is the best sight for a bright sunny day in the desert IMHO.  The blue tint really makes the reticle stand out.

I will say, though, that if  you use clay pigeons as targets, the blue tint makes them virtually invisible against a sand berm.

@DocGlockster

Shit. Didn't realize the lens had a blue tint. I either shoot steel or paper. Clays are too much of a hassle to clean up.

@ BCState85

I think we need a "Girls of the IDF" Thread! They are so exotic and HAWT!

I would support that! It's the only reason why I clicked on this thread and the other "KISS" thread.

Would it be possible to find out if the IDF ever sells any other stuff for surplus?

I’m pretty sure they buy the worlds surplus, and what they have they use until it ceases to exist.

I’ll dig up some pics of my old gear for example. Once we’re done with it I’m pretty sure it’s ready for the landfill in most cases.

So there’s no such thing as surplus gear.

Occasionally you might get something that's being tossed out that's still serviceable. This is a vest I saved from destruction...it has wear holes in the bottom of the mag pouches but it's still serviceable. I wouldn't want to go to war with it per se but I do keep it loaded as a backup.

You can find vests in similar condition on Ebay, but they go for outrageous prices. You're better off sourcing an agilite hi vest (I'm not sure if they make these anymore fwiw) if you want an authentic IDF-style rig.

You can still get the older IDF vests from Marom Dolphin or Hagor via Zahal.org. Even the EPHOD harness set ups. EbaY has a lot of stuff. They are going to a more modular vest/plate carrier types and moving away from the fixed/sewn on pouches. I have managed to collect the 1960’s-70’s canvass harness, 1980’s EPHOD, recon harness EHPOD with padded shoulder straps and backpouch, 1980’s tanker chest harness, Marom Dolphin TV7711 vest. Plus other IDF stuff, like functional NVG’s and uzi weapon light with IR filter.

I'll take my IDF Sayeret vest hiking once in a while. Extremely comfortable and surprisingly versatile. I could easily pull an overnight with what I can cram in there.
