i see no reason to own more then 2 at the current time. I might pick up another lower or two in the future just to dump them off again when absolute paranoia starts after the 08 elections.

I find that I like and use AR's the best. I shoot, don't collect so all of my longarms are AR derivative and will be with the exception of a Masada and maybe a KAC PDW. I have a few more builds planned to cover some niches, after that I'll analyze the budget and go from there.

One Lower from each maker! I have a spikes, mega, dpms, superior, stag, rock river arms, essential and looking at anvil arms, olympic, ameetec and others. I like variety-kinda like women.

So tonight I was just shopping for a stock at one of our site sponsor's - ya see, I've got this ½ an AR and I thought I might just put together a lower to finish it out - and, lo and behold! He's got a package deal on 10 stripped lowers!

Nah...

All I know is that I haven't reached that point yet. I do have a good start so far.

I think its silly to buy for 3 generations.  I know 1 guy personally who recieved an armory from his dad.  he sold it all because he & his wife hates guns.  your kids & grandkids may sell ur collection at a huge loss (to you).  u'll be turning in ur grave ;-)

1 AR is enuff for me.  only other AR I could possibly want is a piston upper.  otherwise they are all the same  AKs on the other hand...

I have to remember to indoctrinate my kids and get them to love guns.

hmm....
alright, however many is too many, then one less than that number would be enough..

..plus 2 more.

Here is a good rule of thumb. If you can keep count of how many then you definetly do NOT have enough. When you lose count then start cracking on ammo and accessories.

How many are enough....?

When "she who must be obeyed" catches on, figuring out that they are not all the same rifle, and tells you to get rid of x number of them.  "Enough" is what you have left over.

Buy all you can afford. Then get a loan and buy a few more.
