You guys make me feel so fat....at least i am honest and admit to needing to cut out a few little debbies |

ArmaLite 16" upper on a S&W lower, 7.5 lbs. Ok, ok, add a pound for a loaded mag. http://i829.photobucket.com/albums/zz211/Quentin68/M-15right-200.jpg Thank you kind sir and nice rifle as well |

7.5 unloaded 8.5 loaded..I make sure all of my ARs are under M14 weight. If I want M14 weight Ill carry my M14...consideration given for DMR type rifles...carbines as light as possible with no rails and an Aimpoint on a flat top.I dont use a fore grip and have a seperate light attachment.
|
|
YEP..
I dont know but it sure seems people anymore think the more they put on their AR the better.... I personally dont see the need for a flashlight and some of the other gadgets.... eotec and a detachable Bipod for the range.... Quoted:

I recently weighed these.... 12.6 lbs...the heaviest of my AR collection http://i43.tinypic.com/212j15e.jpg 9.96 lbs... http://i43.tinypic.com/11tn4p2.jpg Trident - what optic and mount are you using in the top pic? I am in the process of copying this rifle . I am having trouble deciding on an optic and mount though. I don't have a lot of cash to spend, so the optic will have to be on the cheap side at least for now. And... you were not kidding - that 18" barrel is HEAVY. I can't get over the weight difference. |

I recently bought a Bushy Superlight...I am used to 20" rifles..to me this thing is light as a feather!

Guess it depends on what your AR is used for. A home defense or duty rifle a light and/or grip makes since. If you use the rifle for hunting or just range shooting then an optic and bi pod might be all you need. Personally I just think it looks cool but I am thinking about replacing my rail with a magpul moe hand guard. |

6 pounds.
I don't believe in owning an AR that is not made for bench shooting being over 7 pounds. |

7 pounds, exactly. My "KISS, with a touch of Magpul" build. |

M16A4 Clone, 20" HB, 6-18x scope, BUIS, unloaded = 10 lbs
M4 Clone, 16" HB, Carry Handle, unloaded = 6.7 lbs Add about 3/4 lb more for my loaded 20 round mag. Regards, Hotgun |

Its simply amazing the diff. that the heavier contour 18" barrel makes over a 16" CL......kinda depressing, really As for the glass and such....Its a NF nxs compact 2.5-10x32 mounted in ADM Recon-x.......secondary glass is a Aimpoint T-1 mounted in a Larue Lt-724 angled mount. Emulate away pal and thanks for choosing some of mine to put in yours |

The top AR is a 16 inch, 6.5 Grendel weighing 8.5 lbs with full mag. The lower AR is a 16 inch, 5.56 weighing 9.5 lbs with a full mag. I was surprised-I thought my Grendel weighed more than the 5.56. Of course larger mag in 5.56. http://i675.photobucket.com/albums/vv120/kgburcham/AR%20post%202010/129.jpg |

This thread is full of WIN....WEIRD how much i like to see another man's guns weight

http://i800.photobucket.com/albums/yy285/docrock184/MOEprof.jpg No scale but I'm guessing it weighs more then six pounds but less then eight loaded. http://i800.photobucket.com/albums/yy285/docrock184/m4prof.jpg Since a standard M4 weighs 7.5 pounds, I'm guessing this one is about nine pounds loaded with the extra cool guy stuff on it. Specs on the first sir?.....me likey, and i think your really not bragging enough about how light it prob. is. Appears to have a colt cutie barrel or similar pencil profiled LW barrel. Than your selection of furniture is really lw too.....T-1s, yeah they are lw too I am guessing no more than 6 1/2. |

The upper is from Double Star, they were the only place I could find a chromed 14.5" lightweight pencil barrel (Phantom perm attached) - PRI flip up front sight, ARMS 40L rear sight off the EE, Aimpoint H1 with KZ mount from Botach (killer deal together, I know general consensus is Botach sucks ass but it was a great deal and they got it to me in three days), MOE handguard and pistol grip, CTR stock, BCM Gunfighter CH, RRA BCG, ASAP and MS2 sling. It feels very light and dandy compared ot some of the builds I've got, especially in comparison to my middy with full length rails. |

Too heavy, 11.5lbs to be exact. It’s reliable and accurate but I'm looking to replace it with something under 7 because an 11.5lb rifle really wears you out unless your bench shooting. http://www.angryludwig.com/mediacenter/images/lwrc.jpg Just send to me than so i can properly dispose of it.....right in my collection Sure it weighs...but its only because of all the nice gear on it. edho.....the pistol is disqualified....you know this pal |

9.0 lbs no ammo, dust cover, shell deflector, and forward assist.http://i41.tinypic.com/333b9zm.jpg

I like a little heft on the front for balast and stability for offhand shooting. In fact my new KAC RAS and rails arrived today and I couldn't wait to pull the light, plastic MOE off and put it and the Surefire GL2 on. On the cheap bathroom scale with a loaded 30rd. Pmag it says a hair over 7lbs. but I think it's heavier. It snaps level on target, the red dot doesn't waver and it now looks and feels like a serious fighting carbine.

Your all little boys.
I'm 62 and carry my A2 HABR all day in the woods. Of course my son has to carry the ammo and mags. |
