Zastava is making some damn fine rifles for the money right now.
I'm not sure if they had teething issues when they hot going but the recent ones I've seen have looked super nice and have yet to hear anything about problems. |

Bought a M70 ZPAP last month and I couldn’t be happier. I did a LOT of homework on them before purchasing and from everything I read and saw from those that really KNOW what they’re talking about really liked them. Internet commandos who come out of the woodwork AND HIDE BEHIND A KEYBOARD to trash something are just looking for attention IMO.

No issues with mine, good mag lock up, perfect rivets, good fit & finish, 100% reliable, negligible canting, decent AK accuracy (3 moa). Overall a well made AK especially for the price.

Mine has canted rear leaf sight. The front sight is moved to the right from the factory due to that. Meh, it's still accurate, reliable and a soft shooter. I prefer to use optics anyway. Plan on sticking a Trijicon TA50 on mine once I can get ahold of an AKOT mount.

My M90 had a crooked rear right leaf, the dust cover take down pin froze in place and was unreliable in feeding modern 5.56 ammo.
In fairness to Zastava they responded to my service inquiry immediately and replaced the rear sight leaf, the take down pin and the new “guidance” on using gas setting “one” seems to have resolved the feeding/extraction issues. While I have never had to deal with issues, even this minor, with other makers I will still probably consider Zastava for future purchases given the price point, features and customer service. |
