I love my 7.62x39 Galil Ace, but I really want a 5.45x39 version.  Any reason IWI has not made this variant/version?

They have 5.56 and .308.......... 5.45x39 seems like it would make sense.

Thoughts?

Exactly this.

Even 5.45 AR’s quickly went out of favor as soon as the cheap surplus got banned.  There’s little reason to think many people would buy a $1,600 5.45 Ace.  At least, not enough people to make producing it worthwhile.

I’ve seen some custom 5.45 AR and ARM Galils out there.  They look as awesome as they come.  No idea where to find the 5.45 barrel for one these days though.

I’d be all over a 5.45 anything from IWI.  RPC Fort in Ukraine license builds the Tavor in 5.45, so the engineering is even done on that.

There had been talk of a 5.45 conversation kit for the x-95, but I think the ammo ban killed that.

Because they won't sell enough to make a profit.

Because Israel uses NATO ammo. Original Galil's were 5.56mm and 7.62x51mm only. Also hardly nobody uses 5.45x39mm in America. But 7.62x39mm is still popular here. It was nice they made one in that caliber for the ACE.

and IIRC, the mag has the same dimensions as the 7.62x39 mag, so it's much easier to convert to 7.62x39 than 5.45. BTW, I'd love one in 5.45 and 7.62x39, not the ACE though.

Og galil magwells were same as 7.62x39, however its not a huge thing to make it a 5.45 magwell, can be as simple as lowering front catch by 1mm.
