Got a cherry SAM7r with laminate wood in trade this week. Currently refinishing the wood and I can’t stand not having a sling on my rifles. What are my options? The wood stock has NO sling swivel. I toyed with the idea of drilling and mounting the sling swivel from the factory polymer set, but I don’t know that I want go dremeling the laminate stock.

Is there any aftermarket options, maybe that mount behind the pistol grip or near the rear of the receiver?

Either Urban ERT sling mount that wraps around the wrist of the stock.

AK sling plate that mounts between the pistol grip and the receiver and gives a loop to clip on to.

Find someone with a drill press to install a swivel.

I wonder if anyone makes fancy finish QD sockets...that'd be kinda neat to have put in a laminate stock.
