I'm currently looking to get into building AKs. My current project is a Saiga conversion which will be ready for rivets fairly shortly. For this version, I need the capacity to trigger guard rivets (will for sure get a press and the AK builder trigger guard rivet tool).
I'm on the fence between getting the expensive AK builder rivet tool for trunnion rivets, or getting the Toth tool bolt cutter and long rivet tools. Cost wise, getting one versus the other two isn't a huge difference, but the Toth tool options are simpler for my feeble mind to understand.
If this Saiga build goes well, I'm planning to up my game and do at least three builds on 80% receivers, so I don't want to cheap out. I'm just trying to figure out the best balance between cost and lack of skill level. If all goes well, I hope to give my dad a "ghost gun" for Christmas this year.
