Hi folks,

The procedure for pressing on components looks straight forward using AK builder tools. However, the process for pressing them off has me stumped. In particular the gas block and rear sight block. Because of the dimensions on the rear, it is hard to grip the part with two parallel surfaces. I assume I will need to buy jigs or make them. Does anyone sell jigs specifically made for this task? Any other advice? When pressing off the gas block on my Saiga, it was so stiff that it damaged tool steel bars, and my AR500 target plate that I used as a stand in crack the gas block without moving it at all. I cut relief grooves in the block and then broke it off.

However, my plan is to install a new gas block sight base, function test the rifle, register as an SBR and then fully depopulate it in order to send it off to be chopped and threaded. So I need a plan that doesn't involve destroying perfectly good parts for disassembly...
