Will these eventually be offered with the triangular brace on the shorty AK prototypes you showed earlier?

@PalmettoStateArmory

Is the manufactured info and serial number in the rear of the receiver? If so, any chance you'll could move them to the front like on top of the receiver dimple? Just speaking for those of us that would like to add the AK100 series folding stock and trunnion.

The Serial Number and logo are on the bottom of the receiver forward of the magazine well. We cannot move it anywhere else, but I do not believe that would affect you in this situation.

Thank you,

Josiah

Quick question, I was under the impression that we couldn't deface manufacturer in this case "Palmetto State Armory West Columbia, SC" that is located on the rear left side of the gun?

An Edit to my original post. I was incorrect. The Serial Number, Caliber, and Model are on the bottom of the receiver forward of the magazine well. The PSA logo is on the right rear of the receiver, and on the left rear is says "Palmetto State Armory, West Columbia SC. We cannot move it anywhere else.

Thank you,

Josiah

When are these going to be in stock?

I had my name on the ‘notify’ list for the 35 round mags.
Today at 5:10est I get an email saying they’re back in stock. As soon as I click on the link, they’re OOS.
So I guess if anyone makes a movie about these mags we’ll call it ‘Gone in 60 seconds’.
So I’m back on the ‘notify’ list again.

Got a shipping notice from PSA today on my MOE version so hopefully if things go well with my FFL I might be able to get it to the range this weekend.

Not that 9mm is a beast to begin with but I'd imagine the steel AK will soak up most of the feels

Picked up my MOE version of the AK-V9 last night.  Here are a few pics.  I likely won't get a chance to shoot it until Monday, but will report back when I do.  If anyone has questions let me know.  I can take pics, measurements, etc.

One thing I noticed right away is that the receiver is shorter than standard.  This receiver is approx. 8-7/8"   The pic below shows it next to my Definitive Arms AKX9.  Hard to tell in the photo, but the rear of the receivers are lined up.  I don't know much about the Russian Vityaz so maybe it has a shorter receiver and this was done to be true to form.  Regardless I kind of like it.  It makes it look and feel very nice and compact.

This is the bolt hold open button.  It slides up/down.  You can slide it up to manually lock the bolt back.  When locked, just slide it down to release.

For those wondering about OAL . . .  (approximate, but close)
Brace collapsed - 25-1/4"
First click - 25-7/8"
Second click - 26-5/8"
Third click 27-1/4"
Fully extended - 27-7/8"

Thanks for posting! Are those bolts holding the magwell under the reunion?

The vityaz receiver is shortened too. That’s why a normal aks74 side folding stock won’t lock up and the side folding vityaz stocks have a different locking mechanism on the barrel pin (a little ball).

What’s the weight?

ETA: What are your thoughts on the top cover? Does it seem solid? Any wiggle? Selector gap?

Yes, it looks like the bolts under the barrel in my pic upthread hold the front part of the magwell to the trunion.

Weight - on my cheap Harbor Freight scale - 6.8 lbs without mag.  7.0 with empty mag

The top cover is pretty solid, but I'm not sure I will use it for optics.  I will likely modify an Ultimak tube like I did on my Definitive Arms AKX9 as shown below.  That has been completely solid.

Whats with the divet in the ejector?
Link Posted: 12/15/2018 11:44:25 PM EDT
[#48]
Just picked mine up today, mounted a Holosun 503GU on it and will do some shooting with it tomorrow. Railed dust cover mount is very tight, can't feel any wiggle on it. BHO button can be used to lock back or release the bolt (which I found out by accident ). The PSA mag locks solid with the AK-V and is audible. The CZ 30 rd mags lock good too, but are not audible. The PSA mag's steel inserts are inside the magazine and not external:

Mags were a lot easier to hand load than the CZ ones too

We will have the triangle side-folder brace/mounting mechinism model in about 2-3 months. The currently included M4 adapter with SBA3 can be removed and replaced with the soon to be released triangle side folding brace and mounting mechanism. They are designed to be interchangeable. Also, both of these mounting devises (M4 and Triangle) are compatible with either our puzzle piece rear trunnion and many popular rear trunnions on the market. We will be selling the M4 with SBA3 assembly and the Triangle with mounting devise separately to be used on other firearms in the coming months.

Also, we will have our magazines on the website today. They will be $19.99.

Thank you,

Josiah

So , in 2-3 month the pistols will be available complete with the triangle brace, or the triangle brace will be available for purchase separately only ?
