Finally finished up an AK-104 clone in full Zenit gear. Latest AK-105 is just waiting for the B-33 dust cover in Desert (hopefully will arrive in the next few weeks from Russia), and it will be done as well. KUSA KP-104 Sport 1 handguards B-33 dust cover RK-3 grip PT-1 stock The 105 is a PSAK wearing a B-22 optic mount until it gets replaced by the B-33.

I considered tossing it, but during a snow storm, with little else to do, I decided to take a Dremel and cutting wheel to it. Turned out to be a very dependable mag and a nice conversation piece. |

They've been rock solid and the zero has been repeatable even after removing the top cover entirely. One thing I've found is that on most (80%+) of the Palmetto's I've installed them on have some issues with the bolt locking up at the rear of the receiver. This can be easily fixed with a recoil buffer, but I have found a recoil buffer to be NECESSARY to make them work well on PSAs. In addition, I had a fitment issue with the rear sight block pin from TWS on 2 of 3 KUSA rifles, where the KUSA hole was too small for the TWS pin. One KUSA was fine - I consider this, like the PSA fitment, to be an issue with the rifle manufacturer rather than TWS, but it is what it is. Fitment on my comblocs has generally been good - I think I may have put a recoil buffer on one or two but most of them work fine without one. With the B-33s, what can I say? They're the gold standard of AK dust covers. If they were $350, I'd put them on all of my AKs. At $500, it's a pretty tough comparison given that the TWS is about $225 all-in ($175 for the cover, $35 for the rear sight and $15 for a recoil buffer). At the $700-1000 current price point, I'm only buying a B-33 if it's for a specific clone or showcase build. So in conclusion, I highly recommend a TWS over the standard dust cover for a solid optic mount. Considering you could spend $150-200 on a good side mount (my favorite is the AK Master full-length mount), the TWS is a superior solution in my mind. I think it does everything the B-33 does, or at least it has for me, at less than half the price. Would I get a B-33 over a TWS if the prices were close? Absolutely. But for something that is arguably about as effective as a B-33 for the things I want it to do, for a quarter of the price.... a TWS is a pretty good option. |

I just picked this little guy up from PSA. GF4 14.5" p&w. Haven't fired yet, but so far I'm very impressed with the fit and finish. If it runs as good as it looks, I think it'll be a winner. I'm planning on pulling the buffer tube adapter off and putting a Zhukov S stock on it. Not sure if the light will stay on or not. After I thoroughly function check it, I'll have to find a night to drink enough to break out the spray paint.  Attached File |

Swapped out a couple parts. It's incredible how much the ergonomics have improved. The grip is just heads and shoulders better than the skinny stock one. And with the stock I can finally get high enough for a good picture through the optic. Attached File Attached File |

Zenitco really is the best rails/top cover option going, totally sucks we cant get it reasonably any more. I tried the TWS handguard for a while. Didn't like it at all. My most current AK. A Pioneer forged 5.56 I picked up just to mess with.
