It wasn't until I was doing the final assembly did I realize the pin retainer spring is captive to the auto sear. I played around if I could somehow slip it over the trigger pin or something of the like, but I'm not sure that's going to work? What's the solution here? Put 5mm E-clips over each pin like the Hungarian AKs? Can you modify a retainer plate to work? Does anyone make a specific galil spring that fits around the larger safety?

Ronin's grips sells a fire control group retainer:
https://shop.roninsgrips.com/FCG-Retainer-Plates_c57.htm He currently has US made Galil pistol grips in stock as well. However, they are not US marked. I understand people are putting AK FCG's in Galils. I have not messed with the FCG's in my 2 Galils as they look complex as hell. |

The reason they wont work is they are meant to be retained by the safety selector, but on a Galil it has an ambi selector that increases the OD of the safety by nearly double, so none of these retainer plates work. You would have to cut the closed end entirely off. |
