Hello all, Gregory Acres here. I am from Auke Bay, AK. I work in the health care field. I have been married for 7 years and I am 51 yrs. old. I am in the book so if you visit Juneau, give me a call. If I have time I will be glad to share what info I can about our beautiful state. We have a sizeable gun club here and hold SASS, NRA sanctioned shoots, steel plate shoots, three gun matches,.... Our local range is The Hank Harmon Range and our gun club is called The Juneau Rifle and Pistol Club. We also have an indoor range we are very proud of. Nice to meet everyone. Hey all, I have been around for sometime, lurking and learning. Thought I should say what's up? I have a SA-93 thumbhole stock and all. Looking to change the stock and trick it out a bit. I am sure I will have questions when the time finally comes to get started I also have a SKS para that takes AK mags. Later Daze |

What the hell, here goes.... I've been lurking for a long time. I've found lots of good (and entertaining) info here. Thanks to all who unknowingly helped me. I live in Maine. Married. One son, two stepsons. USMC 1988-1993. I have 2 Romanian AKs...a GP WASR-10 and a 10/63. I used to have a SAR-1 (my first AK) but sold it when we hit some hard times. We are 1 week away from closing on a new (to us) house with a huge garage, and I want to learn how to build them once I have the place to do it. I plan to do the first one on a 100% receiver and go from there, eventually learning to start from scratch. We do a lot of hunting, fishing, camping, canoeing, and related things. |
| GrouchoMark here (screwed up registering). 46, wife & 2 kids. I shoot a custom Rem700 tack driver in .308, thinking about building one of these plink'in guns ya'll like so much. I do electronics hardware, specifically video systems for the military and the like. I can spot you at 10 miles, recognize you at 2. Big cameras, day and night. |

I have been reluctant to forfeit anonymity but figure you guys are gracious enough to introduce yourselves.........I can do the same. Found this place about 2000 while doing research on the AK47 (I believe it was AK47.net) and signed up a bit later and have enjoyed the conversation almost from the start. Have learned a great deal from some of the real experts here and would consider many the type I would share a place at the bar with or my spot at the range. Will turn 50 next month. Divorced now for 4 years, but have a very respectful and understanding lady who puts up with my collecting. Thanks to all of you for sharing and hope to be able to give back a little along the way. Hello, Due to the recent rise in 5.56 I have discovered my new love of the 7.62x39 cartridge. I had an AK built 6 months ago and love shooting it I have already ordered 2 more kits and I'm looking up to pick up 3 more receivers.. Damn these things are addictive !

Hello group, I have been onboard a while now. I live in New Hampshire the "live free or die" State. I am a former Fla. Fire Fighter (ret.) and started a Police career at 41 years old retiring last year. Getting paid to shoot, nice. The greatest job you well love and hate. Hello: My name is Charles. I'm old. Had a Polytech folder and a Norinco fixed stock back in CA about the time of the Stockton disaster. Registered them both and the price went up so high, I sold them both during the ban for about $1200 each. Just bought another, a Arsenal SAS M-7 folder. Love it. I think when I bought my first ones in the mid-80s, the Norinco fixed stock was $295 and I think the Poly folder was $325. Those were the days. California hated me and my guns so I moved to a free state. |

Well I finally stopped lurking and started posting. First off I've gotta say, Thanks to all that runs this site(s) and a Thank You to all that has helped me and didn't know it. I live in GA, work for a major airline, and love anything to do with firearms. I just bought my first AK in Oct. Bought me a CIA Yugo U/F. I hope to purchase a few more along the way. It is a blast to shoot and the main reason why my AR's and 5.56 ammo is getting dusty (my other toys are jealous as well). | My handle tells you a little about myself. I'm over 50, married for almost 25 years to the same woman, 2 kids w/one in college. AZ is my home and my humor is warped and perverted. Mostly into handguns over the years. Not a lot into long guns per se, but I currently have 2 Keltec SU-16's, two SKS's, a PLR-16 (.223 pistol) and an AR. Thought it's about time to get at least one AK as I need something new to raise the neighbor's concerns. Been over here to try to learn a little about these beasts before I drop some money. People tell me now may be a good time to buy. |

Hi all...34 married into Glocks, AK's, and CZ's. In the process of magwell enlargement of my new WASR 10/63. Already installed G2 trigger, and dremeled the weld on the nut and installed a slant break. Couple more grinds away from making the magwell Perfect. Thanks to the forum. |

Terry's my name and If I had known there was so much testosterone on this forum I would have picked a more "manly" screen name. But I frequent several forums for different hobbies and I keep life simple and use the same screen name. Retired fm Navy in "94" started teaching scuba diving and retired from that about one year ago. Now I don't do squat except shoot my ar's and my Wasr. I started frequeting this side of the site after swapping a pre-ban lower from and ar-15 to a NYer for a WASR 10. just bought my first Romy kit for building. Married to a LEO (the wife). We live on 6.5 acres in the middle of nowhere west of Gainesville, Florida so I shoot out in the back yard often. My other hobbies are knife and tomahawk throwing and my most passionate hobby is my HO model railroading layout in the 2 car garage. And of course that def makes me an "old Fart". Terry in FLorida |

I bought a Polish Tantal in 5.45 as a starter. I compete in carbine matches and wanted something different tahn the AR. I hate guns that are that sensitive to magazines and mine sure is. love the Tantal and will go with a 7.62 next. |

Hello, I'm Dean - live in WI, 38 years old. No stranger to the AR but am considering the AK platform as my next acquisition. Came over there to the 'darkside' to learn what is a good product and what is not. Considering the near unfailing reliability of the AK platform as well as the availability of the 7.62 x 39 ammo this seems like a very logical choice for my next weapon. Checking in...AR15aholic who appreciates the design of the AK, and the cheap 5.45 ammo  Used to have an ORF 7.62x39, sold it. Currently own a Romanian 5.45 SAR. Just purchased a Krebs 5.45 KTR 03s, and I can see going up the list of my favorite rifles to shoot right next to my LMT M4. Scott |
| I'm a retired 62 year old married guy living in Las Vegas, NV. I've been a shooter all my life, but I'm just starting out on this AK47 adventure. I'm an active gun enthusiast, and supporter of individual 2nd Amendment rights. NRA member. Moderator at the carryconcealed.net website, including the Nevada section. I'm not a collector, so I only own the guns I actually shoot. I recently gave my only rifle to my grandson, so the AK47 is being added to my little (and I mean little) arsenal. Presently, I enjoy shooting my Kimber .45 and my Mossberg 930 SPX. I use a Ruger 22/45 for plinking. I've ordered an Arsenal, Inc. AK47, which I expect to be delivered sometime in March. I live in a great active adult community, 55 and older, and participate in our computer club, music, and other activities. I stay physically fit, and have been a lifetime member of weight watchers for about 10 years. I recently bought a Toyota FJ Cruiser, and I'm having a lot of fun going off road in our beautiful Mojave Desert. |

Hello. I am from Indianapolis. I served in the U.S. military from 1974 to 1978. I have also worked in the fire service for a long time. I have owned several brands and types of ak, ar15, hk, daewoo, and fn fal rifles over the years. I always seem to gravitate back to the ak. I currently own a vepr k .223 and professional saiga 308-1 long barrel conversion. I am sold on the K.I.S.S. style of function and operation. It's nice to be in the company of individuals that share the same appreciation, knowledge, and interest for the ak style rifle. |

Hi, Im andrew, 22. Live in oklahoma. Used to be in the AF but now I get paid way better as a civi guarding the gates at the same base LOL. Been into guns my whole life, every one in my family is a gun nut including my mom which is great if you ask me. Im curently waiting on my newest AK to come in from atlantic firearms. I had an orginal russian AK47 but my dad took it with him when he left so im just now getting around to getting another. Ive been lurking around soaking up all sorts of good info and look foward to more great info and disussions. |
