Hey there! I've been lurking for a while and I just added my first AK to my arsenal. It's a Romanian "G" rifle. So far, I'm really pleased with it and it shoots a lot better than I expected. It'll print groups at 25 yards that have most of the holes touching. I have yet to take it to an outdoor range where I can shoot it at longer distances. I'll post more pics of my AK when I get a chance. I am a victim of CUS (Chronic Upgrade Syndrome) so very few things I buy stay in their stock form for very long. Those of you who hate "Tacticrap" on AKs will really hate mine! Oh well, all I have to say is, "IT'S MY GUN!" Me, I'm 34, married with a 2.5 year old son. I currently live in Ft. Worth, TX, but I'm planning on moving back to the Pacific Northwest soon. In addition to shooting, I play paintball, ride motorcycles, and build furniture. what else is in my gun collection? I have been lurking over here on the darkside for a while now. up until a few months ago i owned only one AK..an Arsena SAM7SF but i loved it and now i have an SKS and 2 more Arsenal AKs on the way. never been much of an AR guy. got rid of most of the ones i owned except for one tricked out dime puncher. like most of you guys i just find the simplicity and overall functionality of these comblock weapons to be fantastic, as well as the ammo they use is cheaper than the American stuff BTW Im Sean , 34, currently living in NC though im originally from Fl, married 10 years to a local girl 2 kids 7 and 5, former Marine and now working in Charlotte doing Corporate IT break/fix on enduser machines |

| whats up guys. my name is Franco and i live in detriot MI. Ive been collecting ak's and varients for about a year now. I've been cruising these threads on this site but I have just recently joined up. I'm 2 months short of being 29 years old and have lived in Mi my whole life. My current collection is as follows: My first ak was a wasr gp 10/63 with the romanian single stem side folder with the wood foward pistol grip. Next is a yugo M70AB2 which i love and also a yugo M72 RPK and last but not least a rimanian Gp model 1975: (the one with the high cap receiver with the dimples)he P.S. Im having some problems figuring out all the ins and outs of this site and would greatley appreciate if someone would be so kind as to bear with 2 of my questions as a noob to this site . Thanks again and look foward to talking to you guys. |
| Mike, middle TN, 26, married, no kids, 1 dog, WASR 10 w/ Romanian Folder, Tantal in 5.45. The more I train with the AK's, the more I like them. Not worrying about reliability, even though I've had 0 issues with my m4gery, is refreshing. |

Heya! I'm John. Been in love with the idea of getting an AK since I got back from downrange, and planning on picking one up soon. Don't really know where to start. I got a M1A NM, Glock 23, and Kahr CW40 with my CCW being processed. On a tangent, I have an EoTech and no weapon to mount it on. Would it be completely morally and ethically wrong to mount one a AK? I'm thinking about picking up a WASR at the funstore. Haven't heard amazing things about them, but Im looking for a shorter carbine for in closer than 300m. The m1A with the Leupold Mk 4 on top is good for anything farther. |

Allrightythen... My name is Markus, 24 years young, student at the National Defence University in Finland. I have recently bought an AK of my own; Saiga M3 that is going to be tactically pimped as soon as I have time to take it to a gunsmith. The bloody thing has already started to eat range time from my AR, but only because .223 is so damn expensive whereas I get to shoot 7,62x39 for free, plus of course it being more like my issued RK95. h.gif The next additions to my collection are going to be a Mosin-Nagant and a 1911 |

Been over on the "Dark Side", since the 80's. I was born in the "50's", and have owned alot of different rifle systems. I have been a public servant for over (33) years, will be for (10) more years, if the great maker, wills it. I have children and grand children, all over this "great" country. The AK is absolutely the most reliable and simplistic auto system, that I have come across. I have owned Chinese, Russian (Vepr and Saiga), and Bulgarian variants in all calibers, over the years. The only caliber, that I have not tried, is the 5.45x39 round. I really like the "Krink" concept also. I have also owned FAL and Daewoo, which mimic the AK piston style. I own a AR15 in 7.62x39, and with a little tweaking and adjustment, this project also has potential. I am also looking at the after market piston kits, to clean up things a little bit. I would like to enhance my Saiga (7.62x39), with a Beryl style dust cover rail with a rear sight, and work on improving "practical" accuracy. I really like the current Finnish Military TP95 issue "AK" style rifle in 7.62x39. Can't get away from the "ole" M43 rifle round. |
| 33 year old married for over a decade now.Living in Arizona.Have a couple of kids, 2 or 3 I think. Just bought my first AK yesterday. Took it to the range this morning. Now I see why you guys like these rifles so much. I've got a feeling it's not going to be my last one. |

Hi, I'm a 36 year old ex-pat Brit from near London living in Raleigh, NC. I'm relatively (a few years in now) new to shooting sports and I just popped my AK cherry last night by buying an SAR-1 (thanks for the advice guys!). I've got a Romy G kit in hand that I'm getting ready to build (waiting on a build party) and if you look in my gun cabinet there's a fair few Russian designed guns in there (SKS, Mosin and AK are now all represented). |

| Been around here for a little while. Had an AR15 and sold it last year. But felt the urge to get another EBR and went with an AK (Used Pawn-Shop MAK90 for $315) this time. Picked it up yesterday and have not had the chance to shoot it yet. |

Hello Dark Side... I am fortunate enough to have been able to order an HDI Afghan today, and I cannot wait to get it. Already have some mags and 1k of Golden Tiger just waiting. Need more ammo though...and a Larue BOB "man-purse" (lol, that's what the wife calls it). Will post pics when my Afghan arrives. Thanks to all of you that frequent this forum and add so much valuable information. UPDATE FOR PICS   |

Hi all, I shot an AK for the first time 3 weeks ago, a WASR-10. Not very pretty or fancy but not quite worthy of a paper bag. I am considering an Arsenal SLR-108 or the SA-M7 for my own collection and most likely a more traditional one to play Red Dawn with. -George in MD |

Small world. I live in Raleigh as well. 20 years old, still a relative newbie to firearms, and I'm currently a college student so I don't have much money to spend on guns. I've got 3 in my collection currently (Romy G kit, mossberg shotgun and a henry lever-action .22) and those will probably be my only guns until I graduate....or find vast sums of money for no apparent reason. |

Steven here, from North Pole, Alaska. No, I am not kidding. I have two AK's, an Arsenal SLR-95 and a Hungarian SA-85M. The SA-85M has been sitting in the original box on my shelf for years and has never been fired, but with the upcoming election I decided to dress her up a bit while I still can. I came here for advice on parts. |

Just purchased my first AK. Aside from a marlin camp 9, this is my first rifle. I have a few shotguns and handguns, mostly duty weapons. I got talking to my neighbor and he said he wanted an AK and the seed was planted. I also like anything the government thinks I shouldn't have. I decided that now was the time because it looks as if the possibilty of another ban is on the horizon. Great community here! |
I'm Bigskippy and I'm way too paranoid about government gun control to post anything personal. You're not? Google search 'gun control in England' and see what you think. That's where we're headed.
It started a few months ago with a Smith & Wesson AR and has grown in a short time to include: 2 Ak's (an Arsenal SA-M7 Classic (russian type 3 clone) and an Arsenal SLR-101S) , 6,000 rounds of ammo, and every gadget I can get. I've spent WAY too much money already but I love shooting and I want to be prepared should the AWB come back. What started with an AR as investment, has grown into an all-out love of the AK. I love shooting both guns AR's and Ak's but I like my AK's better. Different Strokes for different folks. thanks for all the help and info. God Bless! |
