What’s your method of supporting the gas block while pressing out the cut barrel segment? Goes only one way and no real square shoulders anywhere I can find to support it. What a bitch. What do you use or suggest? It’s crazy this is the first time I’ve encountered it. Most of the M70s I built had the barrel sections removed already.

For gas blocks I use an open end wrench.  Find one that fits snugly over the barrel (either end) and then lay it across two blocks and it is your flat surface.
