The sights are factory HK sights that a local shop here in Phoenix installed. This gun is one of my test-bed rifles to see how I like different things. It also has the left-side charging handle and BHO safety lever, as well as the chopped front end. I like the HK sights a lot better than the standard AK sights, and it provides a mush longer sight radius over the standard sights. |

I know its not a whole lot but the sight and rail are new to me and it just makes me love my AK even more.

I shoot just fine with iron sights. I shoot even better with optics. Who the f$*% cares. This is a picture thread for non-traditional AK's........not for you. |

There's a reason Irons are being phased out in favor of "Battery powered gadgets" Iron sights are ok, until you're being shot at.. They become useless in close when you're panicked and more or less point shooting from the shoulder. They become a liability when you find yourself taking time to sit still and line them up perfectly. Of course, someone like you would scoff at the idea that you'd ever panic and act like that under such conditions. Dot sights are faster, easier to use, easier to zero, the list goes on. But continue to live in your ignorance, and by all means continue to act like it's 1935 and the best sighting system available to mankind is lining up two crude notches on the top of a gun. As to the rest of your post. Nobody cares. |

For range-shooting, red dots and optics are, for most of us, gun-bling. For people who carry guns for a living, they are much more –– for a Regular Guy like me, they're a nice addition. But when the zombie apocalypse happens, I'll be glad I have that Aimpoint for quicker shooting under pressure. The short sight radius and inferior sights of the AK makes it a better choice for a red dot sight, IMO. |

This has been updated with a AFG2 and the TLR has been moved to the bottom rail. The 1 point bungee sling was also replaced with a 2 point LaRue Tactical sling. I also have a fold up bi-pod that is sometimes clamped on. It'll be complete when I find a good deal on a black bayonet (the brown just doesnt match anymore) and when I get the battery cover and switch to run the TLR from the AFG. |
