I'm curious if anyone has done a VZ2008 SBR where one chops the longer barrel down, re-crown, re-thread and re-attach front sight assembly?

Curious about gas port changes - if any were required or other considerations?

Handling the short barrel AK, AR and other SBRs - The long skinny barrel just seem so long now in comparison.  Its a great light gun, it seems like it would swing easier a little shorter -

Certainly, but not a chop job - CzechpointUSA has sold the vz-58 pistols for years. Buy one, (much higher quality than the Century reworks), and SBR it.

Had the front sight welded to the gas block.  Gas port does have to be opened up.  Going by memory, but think the barrel length is 10".

Thanks - Nice Job cutting it down!  I am thinking of cutting mine down to a barrel length where I can still use the original front sight - just in front of the gas block.  Probably about 12".

Do you remember what port size or drill size you used on your gas port?

Don't remember what drill bit I ended up with for enlarging the port. It was a common size. Start small and work your way up.
