I’ve seen there’s a few companies out with forced reset triggers for AK’s now. Wondering if anyone has had experience with any of them? They are companies I’ve never heard of. I know there has been some scams with these over the last few years. |

I got mine from DNT. Seems decent quality. I’m not really happy with them though. It says it will fit in Zastava rifles with fitting. I’m fine with that. The problem is, they can’t tell me how to fit it. They sent me a link to a tutorial video that did help. I got the trigger and safety functioning as it should. I can not get the bolt carrier in the gun. I contacted them and they said “check on Redit”. What the fuck is that? You sell a product but can’t tell me how to get it to work? |

Hey, at least they responded to you, lol! Got any pics? It sounds like the trip bar needs positioned properly to get the carrier in the receiver. Try checking out the AK video here.. He sells the same thing as DNT. The fitting should apply. I still haven’t thoroughly tested mine yet due to interruptions. This coming weekend is booked, so maybe the following. |

I purchased one - Preferably to add on a Zastava, but if its too much screwing around I will try it on a Polish build. Has anyone here gotten theirs successfully to function - any tips? Reddit has some info but scan't - They say there is a .pdf file somewhere with more info Does anyone know what that document is? or where it is?? |

I got mine to function. It’s a lot of trial and error with the trigger profiling and getting the trip bar working with the cam and bolt carrier just right. Between my day job and life, I don’t have the time to put together a tutorial. I can say that the Mars trigger from Alfa Tactical costs more, but is worth it with the ease of installing and making functional. |

| I’m going to hold off on an FRT for the AK until someone makes them right, to include the proper third position in the proper location. From what I’ve seen, the current setups appear to be fragile, unreliable junk. AR FRT’s have come a long way over the last several years, and hopefully we’ll see that spill into the AK side of things. |

I'd definitely be interested in seeing that. I have one I've never used. I have a registered auto Valmet M78 in 7.62x39. I just never put it in there. I like the rate of fire as is. |

They used a milled receiver auto sear in a stamped gun and probably didn’t time it. It destroyed the bolt and trunnion. I brought it back to life with a Polish AKM kit with a little bit of metal removal from the receiver. It got the correct sear and I added the retarder to offset the chance of it blowing up again. It ran really well with the shortened barrel and decent ROF. If yours was converted by them, make sure you have the right sear and consider adding the retarderer. |

It runs smooth as can be. Hopefully they put in the correct sear and checked the timing. UPS fukd me on the shipping and postponed it until Monday. Anyhow, I got two of my three running. One is a KS-47 with the Hoffman SS. That’s drop in and is a runnin’ sumbitch for an AR using AK mags. Not an AK though. The Maadi is having an issue with the bolt carrier riding over the trip wire of the Mars trigger. I did some more adjusting when I got back and it’ll need some more testing. The AOW with the DNT style is running like a raped ape! I had to add material with the wire-feed to replace the portion that broke off previously and reshape the interface surface that the carrier contacts. We ran about 120 rounds through it with one instance of a casing not completely ejecting. It runs pretty fast out of the 8” barrel and I think the hammer retarder will help. I may need to dial down the gas. The massive fireballs coming out of the muzzle mid day was impressive as hell. The concussion from the blast is impressive also. I can’t wait till I get to do some night shooting with it, lol! Despite the breaking and having to contour the trigger differently than the fixture, I think the DNT has some promise. Some eye candy of today’s winners.  |

I've got a DNT kit I've been trying to make work in a Zastava ZPAP92. I probably should have started with something a little more standard as I am having a hard time figuring out how the kit is supposed to work, plus modifying it to fit the thicker trunnion. I have an issue where when the cam is in place I can't fit the BCG back in because it hits the top of the cam. Does this mean I need to lower the cam surface? Or does it mean I need to modify the trigger clearance? |

| A question for those with DNT kits - How does the "trip bar" work with the carrier? Do they move in the rail with each other? or does the carrier move independent of it within the same rail and impact a certain area of the bar? Looking at it I am sort of confused how the trip bar moves with the carrier and how much does it move. |

Also, the thicker receiver may be causing some binding with the trip bar. ETA: check the link in my post #9 for fitting it into your Yugo. |

The bar will be pushed rearward by the cam and then forward by the carrier to release the cam from the trigger. It should move freely between the carrier, the receiver and rails. |

I have a pair of AK74 clones, a Waffen Werks made around 2014-15 and a PSA with a triangular folding stock made around 2023. This one: https://palmettostatearmory.com/psak-74-triangle-side-folding-rifle-with-toolcraft-trunnion-bolt-and-carrier-plum-gloss.html Are there any FRTs known to work with either of these? I can post photos of the Waffen if needed, I don't have any on my computer right now. |

I did a MARS with a PSA AK-104 - has the same side folder trunnion - The issue is that when installing the FRT mechanism in the receiver there is a part that needs to move against the left side of the receiver to put spring tension on the FRT process. The front most rivet on the triangle trunnion will interfere with it fitting. It can be modified by grinding down the rivet head a bit - and smooth out. MARS probably has improved the design since then might want to ask if they have something specific for side folder trunnions |
