Let's see now, in the last couple of years, I have bought:
- Ruger 10-22 for $50,  it needed a new rear sight
- a Blue Sky imported Inland M1 carbine for $110
- Non-import SA M1 Garand for $300
- 5  20-rd AR15 Colt mags for $5 each
- 2 32 rd Colt 9mm AR15 mags with metal followers for $40 each
- 5 Factory Glock 19 15-rd FML mags for  $10 each

There are deals out there.  Look for private sales, people who are looking to get rid of things they don't need anymore. Just be polite and ask them if they have other things they are selling aside from the stuff that are out on their table. You'll be surprise.

I got an okay deal on a 1/2 pound of beef jerky (sarcasm).  Actually the only good deal I've ever gotten was 2 cases of XM193 ammo for $340.  That was last Fall, but the prices were substantially higher than that everywhere else at the time.

Springield GI M1 Garand.  Very early gun with a 209,XXX S/N.  Springfield '50 barrel and Springfield bolt.  Have not had time yet to check manufacture of the other parts.  Has been refinished obviously.  Should make a nice shooter or display piece.

Also got a like-new Chinese AK drum for $75 OTD.

thought i had a Valmet 223 cal. for $360 about 2 years ago from a dealer that was new condition and then i looked closer at the price tag to only find that it had a faded 1 in front of the 360 so price was actually $1,360. i almost fainted when i first saw it though, i thought i bout had something nice for a deal and a half.

best deals lately have been brand new in the wrap USGI AR mags(30 rd) for $10 each out the door and the same guy sold me used(but in awesome condition) USGI AR mags(30 rd) for $5 each if i bought 2 or more and that was out the door, tax, tag and title.

did find a LNIB Springfield WW2 GI 45 cal about 6 months ago from a guy at a show for $300 straight out. but passed on it cause i didn't have the spare cash at the moment.

a buddy found a Norinco 86S(the AK bullpup design with the "fishmouth" flash hider) for $600 a while back. a dealer had it on his table and thought that it was broke because the bolt was locked back and he didn't know how to work it. it was absolutly mint. (and the bolt was not broke by the way), it functioned flawlessly, like stated, the dealer didn't know how to work the bolt on it.

None. I have never bought a gun at a gunshow. Crap at inflated prices is mostly what I have seen. In fact, while I enjoy going to gunshows I have hardly bought anything, possibly spending $2-300 over the last 10 years at them.

I think gunshows are going to die and there is no one more to blame than the ripoff vendors who attend them, selling crap at ridiculous prices. I have never seen anything I couldn't buy for less elsewhere.

I bought a lightly used Stevens sxs 16 gauge for $125.00 three years ago.  I had three offers on my way to the table to do the background check.

Its a bird murdering machine.

(Hope I won't get flamed for being a bird hunter.)

Okay, I'll play. Century built Inch Pattern FAL. Mix of parts, but at least all inch. Came with 3 mags and an older Trilux unit mounted. Mount was kinda flimsy, but whatever. Price was $350 OTD, as it was a private sale. That's got to be one of my best.

Bulgarian Milled SA-93 in exc condition for $300

IOR 4x32 mm scope with the dragunov reticle for $100. It was one of the older ones without the illumination system made for the Romanian army in the early 90's. It used tritium instead. The tritium was really low but still glowed.

I don't bother going to shows these days, but up until about 10 years ago it was worth it.

My best buys at shows (back in the day):

Benelli M3 Super 90 - NIB, "pre-ban" - $750 at Harrisburg around 1995
Arsenal SLR-95 - NIB - $235 at York around 1996
Beretta 1201FP - NIB - $375 at Harrisburg 1996
3 cases (1440 rds each) Malaysian M193 - $350 in Timmonium, Md in 1997 (and I think it was EtAmmoman that I got it from)

All were good deals, better than could be had anywhere else at the time. That's the way the shows used to be.

These days, well like I said I don't bother to go any more. Damn shame.
