The AKM and AK74 receivers will be unmarked as offered by DCI/NDS.
Steve at Tom Sawyer Manufacturing would be a good one to contact for custom selector markings.
Thanks.

I have some some SA-85 kits I'd like to build, too.  If these receivers are coming out any time soon, I'll just cancel my plans to buy a press, jig, etc. to bend flats.  I really don't want to use any of the receivers out there right now.

On a side note, could the AKM receivers be easily modified to build a Polish underfolder?  Or Harlan could always come out with an underfolder receiver, too.    I'm sure they'd sell well.  If they made that and the two receivers being discussed, they'd dominate the AK receiver market forever.  Not only would people stop buying 100% receivers from other companies, but I bet many of them would stop using flats.

'Muskrat':

We would like to have the AKM and AK-74 receivers available in late January.
We have the prints showing where the holes go for the Polish underfolder parts, so it is likely we will have such a dedicated receiver to offer.
Thanks.

'motorcityman':

Your question is a little off topic but you ask: "whats the deal with RPK receivers too, I have a kit all stripped down waiting to be built. Did you decide if you're going to produce any with the dimples?"

We are working with DCI on three different RPK receivers projects - one for the Yugo M72 RPK (this receiver will have mag dimples), one for the Romanian/Russian RPK in caliber 7.62x39 (this receiver will not have dimples but will have internal mag guide plates), and one for the RPK-74 in caliber 5.45x39.
The production order is in for the DCI Yugo M72 receiver and we should see first delivery shortly. I'll know more later this week (12-14-05).
We have finished our evaluation of the sample DCI Romanain RPK receivers and the sample DCI RPK-74 receivers. We expect the production order will go in soon.

I have update lists for each RPK receiver. If you want to be included, e-mail me at [email protected] and provide your name, e-mail address and what list you want to be on.

Thanks.

Harlan

Harlan: I really like the Yugo M70 receiver I bought from you.

Question: Will a custom SN# option be available on some of the AKMS /AKM receivers? I have two other kits sitting around, incl. a Polish UF.

Harland I am in for three of the RPK47 receivers already better put me in for three of the AKM receivers also, I love the Yugo receiver I already got from you.

Thanks.

Great, Now  I can finish those kits I have been sitting on for so long. By the way Harlan, I received the three yugo receivers from you and they are excellant. Thanks again..

We're set on using the Hungarian AKM (SA-85) receiver as the guide/template for the AKM receiver, and the Bulgarian SLR-105 receiver as the guide/template for the AK74 receiver.
Thanks.

Harlan, this is just a thought, but installing (or partly installing) the reinforcement plate above the pistol grip would be "correct" for the Polish and other underfolders in 7.62mm.

Might be a popular option for the UF receivers.

Trigger bumps and reinforcement plates....PLEASE !

I agree about the reinforcement plate.  If I buy a 100% receiver, I shouldn't have to start spot welding things in it...

By the way, will the AKM or UF receivers have optics rails?

Which version or style of reinforcement plate do you want to see added to an underfolder stock receiver?

An installed side optics rail may be an option, at additional charge.

Thanks.

Polish PMKMS receivers come with a reinforcement plate, right?  Why not just replicate that, since you're already copying the rest of the receiver?  I don't know what a PMKMS plate would look like.

I sure like the idea of both. But, if this is going to run the costs up considerably then if I had to choose one I would vote for the 74 style in different calibers.

If you built a good PMKMS reciever, I'd be interested in 2. Provided you could do custom SN's and possibly side rails.

Harlan,
Put me down for at least 3 AKS74 recievers, 2 AKM underfolders, and 3 AKM .
The PG plates have rounded angled ends on the AKS 74's and squared ends on all AKMS/underfolder versions. Talk to Ted Marshall about this.
Having them spot welded correctly would be a huge bonus for us cut-and-rivet -but-can't- weld -worth -a-damm types.
I vote for the dimple at the aoto sear pin location (for authentic look).

Any progress updates ?

Thanks.

Two AK-74 receivers

Did anyone ever mention an approximate price for the deluxe AKM receivers?  I'm waiting anxiously to put together a Polish underfolder.
Link Posted: 2/28/2006 4:02:28 AM EDT

Our premium AKM and AK74 receivers will be in the $80-85 price range. The price is higher than the NDS-3 due to the huge cost of the tooling to make the receivers authentic.

The part #'s will be:
NDS-1      AKM 7.62x39
NDS-2      AK74 5.45x39

BTW, our first batch of Romy /Russian RPK's were delivered on 2-24-06, and are currently at heat treat.

For a well made, cosmetically accurate receiver,  85 dollars sounds completely reasonable to me.    Damn, throw a custom serial number on that bad boy and whoohoo.  I can't wait.

Put me down for

5  NDS-1 AKM
1  NDS-2 74

Also in for 2 of the PMKMS underfolder receivers when they are available.

Thanks!
