Personally I find it completely repugnant, and not just because it looks silly. A buddy of mine did that to one of his AK's, I tried it out, didnt like it. Decided right then and there that it wasnt for me.
Rails are getting overdone on EVERYTHING, but as long as you dont go overboard, I really dont see a problem with it. I was thinking of getting a red dot scope and some rail handguards for one of my AK's....then I sold it. Oh well, such is life. Its your rifle, your money, do with it what you will...just dont get all butthurt if I laugh at you like I think you're a fool. |

I tend to like the weapon as it is. A saw grip here, a muzzle device there, that's ok. I work with an AK BUBBA, he's got some really wierd pieces. His latest looks like a Wurlitzer jukebox laying on it's side. However if the violation of the rifle makes them happy, so be it, at least it provides us with entertainment.

Top notch optics! Tantal was great with answering all my questions. Well worth the $219 in my book. ETA: An ACOG would just look "rediculous" on a AK anyway! |

There are a few guys here with Com-Bloc optics on their ARs - and I must admit I've considered doing that with one of my 7.62x39mm or 5.45x39mm ARs...

My M15A4 enjoys the occasional Weaver Kobra and 4-8x42 PSO, I also have a 7.62x39 upper as my token Colt item. But I have yet to see a report if the AR47 lower can handle the slightly longer 5.45 mags for an Alexander Arms 5.45 upper. |

No, but they work better with the older (NOT anti-tilt) followers - allows better for the size/shape of the cases. Also, they don't hold as many rounds as they would of 5.56mm. |

I was thinking of something with a 20" barrel, or at least a better looking M4. For some reason I don't like how that looks.... or the price tag.
