The Arrest of Dugan Ashley
On May 12th, the United States Attorney’s Office of the Western District of Missouri, published an announcement of criminal charges against Jordan Derrick, known to the firearms community as Dugan Ashley, in regards to content he was making around explosives. Jordan, who has been a long celebrated member of the guntuber community, recently got into experimenting with and doing more educational content around home made explosives.
After doing A LOT of digging, generally here in the US, there are no federal restrictions around individuals making, owning, or using explosives. Obviously state and local laws around storage and use will vary wildly, but the information provided in those videos weren’t restricted or classified information in any way.
There are also thresholds for when an explosive becomes a destructive device which “will or may be readily converted to, expel a projectile by the action of more than one-half inch in diameter, except for a shotgun or shotgun shell”.
In regards to the charges being alleged against him, the state is accusing him of being “in the business of manufacturing explosive materials without a license” (which “in the business of is already muddy water so I’m not sure how this is the case), unlawfully possessing a destructive device (no details again on that one), and distributing information relating to the manufacture of explosives.
The last charge was brought up due to the feds alleging that Shamsud-Din Jabbar, the scumbag responsible for the 2025 terror attack in New Orleans, used explosive devices that were consistent with Derrick’s instructional videos.
This feels like an incredibly thin case as “close enough” isn't a legal threshold I am aware of and it’s not like we can ask Jabbar where he got his design thanks to NOPD handling business. And even if we could, because someone picks up one book at the library not the other, how can this lead to criminal culpability?
With an administration perfectly happy to give legal immunity to glyphosate manufacturers and threaten to reduce federal funding for states wanting to place restrictions on AI use, this prosecution is another foreboding sign of not good things to come if they manage to get a conviction.
The latest update as of this filming is he was denied bond by the judge (in another major scumbag move by the state) so he will be stuck in prison for the duration of his trial.

Huge Win For Minnesota Gun Owners
Minnesota gun owners got a HUGE win this week in stopping all of the gun control that was proposed during this legislative session. From Carry bans, increased taxation of firearms related products, red flag law expansion, to even mandatory liability insurance, they stopped it all and protected the rights of their residence from the state legislature.
I want to give a shout out to the Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus and specifically speaker Lisa Demuth for their instrumental efforts against the gun control lobby of their state.
Virginia Gets Served
Speaking of putting in the work, I would also like to shout out Gun Owners of America for filing a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction in Virginia to push back on the gun control measures signed into law by Governor BanBurger.
John Crump, GOA, GOF, the Virginia Citizens Defense League, and foundation are all named as plaintiffs in this filing and they are the only thing now standing in the way of these unconstitutional laws being applied to the citizens of the state.
