Did Anti-2A Groups Just Win a $100M Case?
This past week, a jury out of Kentucky ordered the long defunct Husky Armory LLC to pay an over $100 million dollar settlement to Laura Herp, the mother of Henry Willis, who unfortunately took his own life in July of 2023. This whole lawsuit arose due to Henry, who was 18 at the time, purchasing an 80% kit from the company, and getting it shipped to his house a week later without doing a background check.
Their argument was that Husky Armory circumvented federal law on a firearms transfer, allowing the young man access to what he would later turn into a firearm and harm himself weeks later. The lawsuit was only won due to no representative of Husky Armory LLC or their ownership showing up to the trial, so the plaintiff was awarded whatever they asked for whether there were merits to the case or not.
As someone who has found a few successful self harm cases while on patrol just like this and has lost a personal friend in the same manner, no amount of money will ever make what was lost feel whole. Worse to me is gun grabbing groups using the lawsuit of an effectively non-existent company for a news worthy about of money the family will never see just for the headline.
However, I suspect what they really wanted was a precedent for the Bondi v. VanDerstok case which affirmed that 80% kits are firearms under federal law a year prior to this tragedy. Because in their mind, maintaining the lie that it was the gun that caused him to want to self harm, is more important that pursuing a solution that could have intervened on the mental health side of this situation.
CMP Putting M14s on the Menu!
This past weekend, we got a HUGE announcement from the civilian marksmanship program that they plan to start releasing stockpiled M14s in late 2026 or early 2027!
It is only through the CMP that we have been able to get access to M1 Garands, original 1911s, and a host of other government surplus arms. This addition is a huge boon for collectors looking to not pay I know what I got prices for pieces of history.

4 Position FRTs?!?!?!
In our gunsustry news segment, we first have a pretty rad sneak peek at what Harrison Gunworks is cooking up in their lab of forced reset technology. They announced late last week that they were actively in development of 4 position selector kits.
For those new to this concept, it would be safe, semi, 3 round FRT, and full fun FRT mode all in one setup. We have no current timeline outside of soon, but this is likely going to get cloners and people with better ammo budgets than me excited for this coming out in the near future.
