There was an article about the shooting there in the Bellingham Herald in July.  This is all that comes up without buying the article, which I don't plan on doing.

Some visitors' bad behavior puts state foresters in difficult position (DOUG HUDDLE FOR THE BELLINGHAM HERALD)
Recreational shooting on state forest land on Alger Mountain is presenting managers with growing safety and litter problems, and ultimately a dilemma. Leave it open or lock it up. In the past year, one residence at the foot of the mountain was struck on two separate occasions by stray bullets, said Kevin Killian, unit forester for the Washington Department of

Looks like same story as so many other spots.  Hopefully they haven't taken action yet.  Seems Alger Mt.  it is in the Bellingham area.

We do not give out locations in the open for a reason,

If you newb's want to do things your own way, well then knock yourself's out, just dont ask for my help.

Now that being said, I honestly have no clue where the place was, and the origional poster is not someone that I see in here as a regular. But if I did, and If he was, I still would not post the location out in the open. he did not ask for the location, he asked for a road condition, and that I would give out if I knew

In today's world, OPSEC applies to everything, and not because of OBL-because of the media and the USG.

In the last 3-4 years FOTT has closed off lots of good shooting areas, and we have had our own members on the news with FOTT just showing up with the media.

We are just really carefull about how we go about things now for that reason, it is not because you are a bad person or anything. our shooting spots are almost gone now, we have a small spot out on FS land that looks pretty good, but will be a hastle due to the distance needed to drive now for the SCR guys.

I was up there around Thanksgiving. The lower gate and upper gate (to the pit) were both open. A few trucks were parked at the bottom and it seems the owners were on four wheelers. Normal trash at the top, the snow covers up a lot of it. It is a really nice spot, hope it does not get closed.

First off sorry for posting the lat/long.  They are gone now.  Thanks fanatic for the heads up.  I had my head up my a#$.  I'm from Mississippi and we don't have to worry about those commies.

I drove up there yesterday with my wife and another couple of Marines from work.  The gates were open and the road was in great condition.  There was a little left over snow on the ground from a few weeks ago but it was not bad.  I never needed to even think about 4WD.  It didn't rain while we were up there and the shooting was great.  My wife shot a black rifle for the first time.  She was a little hesitant at first but after about three rounds and hitting the target she fell in love and proceeded to empty mags as fast as I could hand them to her. It was beautiful *sniff *sniff.

This went on for a couple of hours and right before we decided to pack things up about dusk Mrs Sproocket emptied 30 rounds into one of those old cars and made the sparks fly.  She was so excited and pumped up that she went to warm the truck up and left her brain somewhere else.

My truck is a manual and she stood outside the truck, pushed down the clutch with her hand and reached in and started the truck.  She then proceeded to let the clutch out without checking to see if the transmission was in neutral and the truck took off in reverse.  The door knocked her over and the front left tire of my 8000 lb truck ran over her right leg from her ankle to just below the knee.  By some miracle after we got her to the hospital and after the x-rays were in nothing was broken, I don't know how.  She will be alright in a few days and she has good pain killers, thank god.

Well, sorry for the long post but I had a lot on my mind and I apologize for the lack of pics.  I know, I know there is no excuse for not taking pictures.

BTW I was in such a hurry to get my wife to the hospital that I left a good sized piece of MDF with some targets stapled to it.  If you find it its yours.
