As stated earlier, Cleveland, Toledo and Cincinnati
had/have local laws restricting certain items. Those became moot a few years ago when the State said laws need to be uniform throughout the state.
I have heard a few vendors haven't been brought up to speed.
WileyCoyote,
I did a quick search but didn't find an easy link to post. Do you know of a "layman's terms" link with the law/rule change?
Found a link:
uniform Ohio laws upheld Dec 2010.
The Ohio Supreme Court ruled 5-2 on December 29th in Cleveland v. State in favor of Ohio's law abiding gun owners. The court concluded:
Ohio's statewide preemption is a general law and local governments may not pass gun laws as Cleveland wished to continue, and
the attorney fees awarded to a party that successfully challenges a city are not a violation of the separation of powers.
Local cities, townships and villages in Ohio simply may not pass pointless local ordinances that differ across the State of Ohio. The court's decision re-enforced their prior decision in Ohioans For Concealed Carry vs. City of Clyde, and cited it repeatedly as the basis of many decisions.
