Can anyone help me with what I have here? I've searched and haven't been able to find a lot of information on the smith other than he seems to be well respected. This is my first Garand and I know next to nothing about them other than I've always wanted one. Thanks in advance for any info anyone can provide.

I have one of Roland's Garands and will never part with it!!!!!!
As I understand, he is one of the last USMC trained Garand Gunsmiths.

He does some really great work. When my Dad had a gunstore in Bald Knob, Roland used to come by every now and then. Dad had him build a match Garand
for him. Roland took Dad to Camp Robinson to the shooting matches one time.

Wow - beauty!
I know the name Roland Beaver as on of the best match armorers around - did not know he went by the name of old corps weaponry.
I'll take two!

I'm a ROLAND FAN too!

I'm a Roland Beaver fan too! I have bought a few rifles from him and have been to his shop many times. I'm a High Power shooter too, I recognize a couple of others in that photo besides Roland.

Roland is in his seventies now, skinny and has a beard. Still building rifles and even makes his own stocks!

If that evil black rifle did not improve its trigger pull, I still be shooting my M-1 in High Power Comp. and using Roland as my PLUMBER every 3years

I'm happy to hear Roland is doing what he loves.

Roland told me last year that he hopes when his time comes, that he just drops dead in his shop! A good way for a man like him to go!

I got my M1 Garand 'massaged' by Roland. I get a lot of comments on it. It's beautiful.

Does anybody know if he works on 1903s?

I know that last year, Roland was working on building some 1903A4's for the new vintage Sniper Match...didn't see any of those, but I'm sure they'll be typical Roland Beaver quality!

Next time you break down your M-1 built by Roland and bought it after Roland worked on it

check the bolt for a modification of a spring installed behind firing pin foot

this MOD was suggest from Roland around 1994 to prevent slam fires

Spring located on left side

Thanks 45-70govt. I'll give him a call. It's nice to know that he's still working.

MrHold, My Garand has the anti slam fire mod as well as a Douglas Premium barrel
