Hey guys;
I am considering a trade with someone that includes a new unfired AR15 in FDE from Diamondback. Before this trade consideration, I will admit I never heard of this AR from Diamondback. The only product I really heard from this company is their 9mm handgun that seems to have some mixed reviews. I read a few revies online and watched some you tube videos and it seems like a solid mid-range AR except some complain the trigger is gritty, and that it has tapco furniture on it. I currently have a Elite operator 2 from Rock river, and wondering how this DB15 compares to it. Strictly going from prices, they are a little cheaper than the rock river entry tactical and even more than the EO2. So if anyone has any experience with this AR and would love to share I am all ears.
Thanks,
Mav

It's a POS assembled poorly from low quality parts.  Will it shoot...maybe, for awhile, but the odds aren't in its favor compared to a quality AR built by a reputable company.  There's one of their AR pistols on the wall  at the LGS where I work, and I am a certified armorer, so yes, I have laid hands and eyes on it and have a piece of paper saying I'm qualified to look it over and determine if it is up to snuff (before the, "I have one and it shoots just fine" crowd).

I've handled a couple now.  I wouldn't put it as midrange.  I'd put it low end.  Its not even close to your RRA in quality.

To answer xwarp's question, I was originally trying to sell a higher end bullpup rifle with some accessories. Everything included I paid over $2k retail. Unfortunately no one is interested. I lowered my price to $1800 and still no response other than a person who wants to trade me for a wasr ak, this DB15 that is supposed to be new and unfired, and a bunch of other stuff (mags, parts, 1K ak ammo, etc.). I already have my EO2, M&P15, and an Arsenal AK, so I don't know if I really want to do it. On the other hand I have this bullpup rifle I can't sell that I really don't shoot or care for.

You guys really make it sound like this rifle isn't very good. American rifleman gave it from what I thought was a solid review. It's really that bad?I can understand that it probably wouldn't be a good SHTF rifle, but what about a range toy for someone?

Here is the next question-Do you think I can sell it? My plan was to probably keep the wasr as I only have one other AK, but since already have a couple of AR's  I thought I would sell it and put the money toward an AR10 or 308 bolt gun. I don't have anything in 308 and that is what I really want. The guy doesn't have anything like that unfortunately. Let me know what you guys think if I could sell it. They are going new online for $800 so I would probably ask the same. Now I am wondering if this is a bad trade.
Thanks,
Mav

If you have a fully functioning Elite operator I'd keep it. It's a damned nice gun. The only way I'd trade it off at all was if I was trading up to something like a DD, Noveske or Larue or similar. I would not trade it for a rifle of equal or lesser value.

So did you actually read what the OP posted?

Op, I would not make that trade. Sounds like a terrible deal. Just MHO.

The RRA is a superior build, do not trade it.

Apparently not well enough. I misread the first post and posted. Who knows what I was thinking.

What are you trading for it?

to the MOD that moved my thread-why? This is a discussion on an AR!!!!!!!!!! Why is it in the "general discussions now"???????

To the people who posted "don't trade your EO2" -guys I'm not trading my EO2. I was using my EO2 as an example for comparison to this diamondback DB15.

And Xwarp-I answered this above, but will explain again. I am selling a highend bullpup rifle (MSAR) and a guy wants to do a trade for it that includes a new DB15, a wasr, and a bunch of other stuff (ammo, mags). I really am not in the market for another AR/AK, so I am trying to find out more about the DB15 and if it is a quality AR or not.

Bottom line is I think I'm going to pass on this DB15. It seems that there are too many negative reviews/comments on it and that it is a lower end AR. Besides, I really don't want another AR unless it's an AR10. Unless someone can convince me otherwise that the DB15 is a solid AR.

Apparently, between the time of the original post, my reply, and the move of the topic, something got screwy. Look at the time stamps of the replies.

I did not see the trade/sell info that you posted until now.

In any case, not knowing the quantity of the ammo, and specifics of the other ammo, I would not do that trade.

Yeah it looks like something happened when the mod moved it. No worries. Thanks for the feedback though. I'll keep looking for more feedback on the DB15 and look for more reviews. It looked like a nice AR and I did like the FDE color. Too bad the reviews online and stuff that has been said here by you guys makes it sound like it would be best to pass on it.

Gun publications exist to sell guns.  You wont read bad reviews in them.

Why trade something you do not want for something else you do not want?

Tell the other guy to sell the DB15 and to bring you cash.

That thought had crossed my mind too. I am interested in the wasr now though-depending on it's condition. Still waiting to get some pics from him. I was going to see if he wanted to either trade the wasr, ammo plus cash. If he doesn't have the cash to make up the difference, then he could always sell the DB15 to get the cash then come back to me then. I will have to see what he wants to do

I bought a DB15 last month. I have only put 30 rounds through it, so I am not going to comment on reliability. Some people have had problems with it, but most of the problems were when they first came out I believe. I am taking it to the range on Monday and plan on putting 180 rounds through it, so I will let you know how it performs. Honestly though, the trade doesn't seem worth it.  I only bought mine because I liked the hand guard, it didn't have a front sight post(I just don't like the look of front sights), and the price was nothing to complain about. Also, it is my first AR so I had no idea what the hell I was supposed to look for in an AR.

Cool-yeah us all know how it runs for you. Well his trade is pretty close to fair as he is throwing in 2 rifles, 1k ammo, 12mags, and some parts. The thing is I really just want to either sell the bullpup or trade it for a factory built (not frakenbuilt or personal built) AR10 or a bolt gun in .308. If I didn't already have a couple of ARs and an AK and the AR was something better like a Delton or Bushmaster I would probably do it.

Something came up and I will not be able to go to the range tomorrow. I am hoping to get out there by the end of this week, but I know for a fact I will be able to get out by the end of this month.

Can you give some details as to why?   An acquaintance wants to transfer a DB, and I want to give him some information on them.

No rush. I no longer require the info as I have passed on the trade. I would still post up your results/range report for others here still interested.

Well I had some extra time today and was really bored so I went to the range. 180 rounds, 2 fail to feeds, both fails were caused by ammo. I was shooting some reloads that my grandpa gave me. I thought I looked over them all, but apparently I missed 2 that had a split case; neither of them fed into the rifle. I used 1 Tapco mag, 1 CAA mag, and 4 USGI mags. I shot a mix of reloads and M193. So far I am very happy with the rifle.
Here is one of the rounds that failed to feed
