potential use for USPSA. looking forward to having some fun with the 22 tcm. Anyone shot it?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.22_TCM

this model comes with slab side, FO sight, Magwell and VZ grips. ive already ordered a couple two mags for it. i plan on polishing the feed ramp and giving it a trigger job. seen some issues with extraction too so we will see how mine works.

UPDATE:

Got it. Man she has a fat grip. there are some machining marks on the slide and in some recesses in the frame but overall its not bad. the safety had some sharp corners so i sanded them down a bit. also added a Wilson extended slide stop, swapped the fiber from orange to red, blacked out the rear sight and added some grip tape on the front of the grip.

Ran about 200 rounds thru it this afternoon in the back yard. shes a shooter. about 50 rounds of factory and the rest with my 125gr reloads. had one stovepipe which i chalk up to being a reload. no problem hitting my 60 and 100 yard gongs.

ive got some 22 tcm ammo on order so will update once i try it

ltd minor in 9mm?

If it runs 9mm in a 1911 style firearm is a joy at the range.

what do you mean by trigger guard? as your pic shows the pistol with one

I like mine OK. Beats paying Para prices.

Some parts may not interchange. I tried installing a Para trigger and the stirrup was much too long.  I think grip screws are unique too.

Don't polish the feed ramp without giving a shot.

Mine works 100%.

Fun Gun.  I've shot it both ways and was impressed for the cost.

How many jugs of water did the 22 TCM penetrate, I couldn't tell for sure.  Looked like the bullet may have stopped in the second jug.  Most common defense loads in 9, 40, 357 and 45 stop in the 3 rd jug from my testing.

wow a 22lr goes through 4 jugs with ease its like they say the 22 tcm has a loud bark but not so much bite the 22 mag is king.

22 TCM is fun as hell to shoot, massive muzzle blast but almost no recoil to it.  Its a bit expensive for factor ammo and holy crap the brass is significantly hotter than any other pistol brass when I recover it a few minutes after shooting.

I got one of the single stacks and may get a double stack for bedside gun, its ability to shoot through soft armor is pretty impressive.

Thanks for posting, 22 TCM is like shooting 5.56 in a 1911.  The factory bullet uses a bonded core and really penetrates steel pretty well.  Figures the bullet stopped in the 3rd jug condidering its energy and expansion.

Picked up a used Armscor 1911 TCM in 9mm with the 22TCM barrel yesterday. Decent enough condition and for $500 with 3 mags and the case, figured it was a decent deal. Took it to the range this morning to try some 9mm 115 factory and 147 reloads. After shooting a 1911 in 45 acp for 26+ years, this gun hardly kicks.  Trigger is decent, just a lot of take up.  Slide to frame fit is loose but I will tighten that up this winter.

Bought a box of 22TCM ammo. At $25 for a box of 50, I think if I want to shoot this caliber much, i am going to need to reload for it.  No muzzle flip with the 22 TCM.  1.5 inch group at 25 yards off a rest which was much better than I expected and better than any of the 9mm loads. .  Loud but I didn't get any big fireball.

Picked up this gun for 3 gun.  Have had several recent matches where 8 and a reload just doesn't cut it.  Now I have to remember not to drop a mag after 8 shots.

actually i think it would have made it into the 4th. 3rd jug was a large laundry detergent jug with thick plastic walls.

Finished my comp rig. Also added some para base pads. Had to sane the corners a bit to drop free.

didnt like the burnt bronze paint job on my girps so i tryed a krylon kryptek pattern. turned out ok but it might not last

also got a few of the Para p18 38 super mags to try. no issues feeding either 9mm or 22tcm. i also got some dawson basepads and internals to try. had to sand the corners of the base down a bit to get them to drop free. happy that i can now have great mags for about $75 each.

ill use this gun in my 3 gun match this weekend

Ran my first multigun match with the RIA this week. Went down to the Frank Proctor two gun match. Franks uses 90% steel targets so it goes real quick

some videos:

and here is one of Frank shooting my RIA with the 22TCM barrel in it. His first time with a 22 TCM
