Or should I be wearing latex gloves when I use it?  I never even thought about it before until reading stuff on this forum about liver disease and cancer.  I would think that if it was harmful, then the bottle would have some sort of warning on it to that affect.

It IS toxic.  Petrolium distillates are carcinogenic agents.  This products are absorbed through the skin and enter the system and may damage organs.

How often does it happens?  Only God knows.  But just in case try to avoid direct contact with skin.

I shoot and clean at least 2 firearms a week.  Because of this frequency of contact I ALWAYS wear nitrile gloves during the cleaning process.

Tip: nitrile gloves are tougher than latex.  They withstand solvents way better and are in the same price range and readily available at WalMart or any drug store.

I do not allow my skin to soak in CLP, and limit excessive contact where it would have the opportunity to soak into my skin. But, I don’t wear gloves either.

Occasional exposure, I think I’m safe. Constant daily exposure, I’d wear gloves.

Use slip 2000 and you wont have to worry about it.I got some slip in my eye and it didnt even bother it at all.Slip 2000 works better then Breakfree anyways,so its a win, win.

How hot does it get in Iraq/Afghanistan?  Or are they storing it in buildings w/ AC?

So do you guys think that once a week or so would be considered "prolonged and repeated contact?"

If you're really concerned about it, wear gloves.
I'm not concerned about it, personally.  Just don't bathe in it, and you'll be fine.

Pretty much sums it up.

Contact dermatitis is probably the biggest real concern. However, if you use brake cleaner especially chlorinated BC and/or Gun Scrubber, you'll absorb a lot more CLP into your system as the BC will help the chemicals cross the skin barrier much more readily. Wear gloves, stop worrying, and/or change cleaners. Gunzilla is good and probably Weaponshield and Slip2000 are in the same boat.
