So, I don't really care for the BCM, or RRA extended flash-hiders.  I was looking at the 14.5" pinned to 16" thread, and Augee posted a few pics of flash-hiders.  I did a little MS Paint rendering, looks much better IMHO...

If you like the regular FH why not just go 14.7" ?  Just curious.

I could, but I want to use a Colt barrel, and it will be more cost effective to swap and sell vs. have my 16" cut down.

The A2X from BCM almost looks like the Ruger flash hider. Why not just use the YHM 5C1, its not hideous and is cheaper. I was going to use it on my build but AIM doesn't carry it so I bought a YHM 28A. Actually just got it pinned on today.

I have the one they call the "Long A2" on my RRA.  It measures 2" back to the crush washer.  I like it better than the short stubby one.

I think I recall the guys in the retro forum talking about using a spacer to have a standard (A1 in their cases) FH on a 14.5" barrel. You might ask in there.
