I just got some parts in from from heatnbeat, a 601 style front pin for my SP1, and a couple other goodies for my XM16E1 project.

Maybe I'll be able to build an affordable 601.

I went ahead and approved the images for you, even though I hate you for having nicer toys then I do.

Ha! Well,, this SP1 really isn't that cool. I like it because it's an early one,,,it still has all the early look and feel and the bits and pcs for a '64 SP1., I added an original 601 furniture set to it.  Closest thing I'll find to a real 601,, ....I would like to eventually put an original triangle CH on it,,,, I'm hesitant to pull the flash hider since it's been there for 50 years.....But If I found a real duckbill.......
The main problem with this SP1 is someone added two extra scope mount holes to the carry handle. So I don't feel too bad about switching a couple things around while still retaining the original parts. And for the YUCK,,, or reason 16875,  Why Bubba shouldn't be allowed own drills......

Looks great! That's probably as close as I'll ever get to a 601 clone as well!

I like it and did the same thing to my "extra" SP1 with all repro parts. NoDak charging handle, painted repro furniture, 601 bolt carrier, John Thomas duckbill.

It too will be the closest I ever come to a 601.
