The concept and birth of the .375 Reaper Cartridge was brought forth by its designer John Culpepper "U.S. Army Ret" and his brother and business partner, Jeremy Culpepper "Weapons Inspector and Gunsmith for a Dept of Defense contractor" in an effort to improve over the 300 blackout and the .458 SOCOM due to many industry complaints of either not enough kinetic energy and range or not enough range and inaccuracy and lessened magazine capacity and cost effectiveness of the platform.

This is one of the loads from there website.

We've been waiting for more info as well.  There's a long thread on it that was posted here earlier.

Does anyone have a link to a range report in an established forum from an established member who purchased one?

I'd like to know if anyone has received one as well.  Was reading in another forum and some guys ordered back in November and have not received them.

They said that W3P was threatening them when they started saying he didn't keep promises about delivery,  he was sending them F bombs in the emails,  etc. One guy mentioned a refund and then things really turned ugly.

It appeared that nobody had received one and when they kept questioning where they were he would send them vulgar emails.  And it appeared he was doing the same to all of them.

I was considering ordering one,  but after researching today,  will most likely get a 458 Socom.

Michael

Smart move getting the .458 SOCOM.  And they are available now from TROMIX and everyone knows what this round will actually do.  Within 200 yards, dead in its tracks, anything.

If you have your heart set on the .375 caliber though, TROMIX is working on a .375 SOCOM which will actually do 2400 fps with a 200 gr. bullet at 35000 psi and it has been clocked  at slightly over 2600 fps but it was considerably over 35K, likely about 45K psi because primers were starting to flatten so this is not a load I personally would recommend using, but the 2400 fps load is not pushing things at all with primers nice and round, therefore, the brass will last forever just like it does with the .458 SOCOM.  It should be available before the end of the year.  The big hold up right now is waiting for dies to be made by Hornady.
More can be read about the preliminary work done on this round on the .458 SOCOM forums.

Thanks for the info.  I will check it out and have been reading the 458 forums for awhile.

Apparently the Whiskey 375 hasn't been delivered to anyone from what I'm reading and he is threatening people.  I read the original stuff in here in the Reaper and other places and guy was really acting bad and no data,  apparently I know why now.  Guess some people that live near him and others were going to take legal action from what I read as he wouldn't give them their money back or whatever.

The 375 Socom sounds really interesting.  I wasn't set on a 375, just sounded  interesting even though bullets are somewhat limited. 458 may be the way to go.  Starting to get in to the AR platform,  lot of fun so far,  wanted  something bigger than my 5.56 and my 308  is heavy.

So there are only a few .375 bullets that will really work with these velocities, right?

What capacity are the mags?

A quick search in Grafs  this is what it shows

The one bullet that the .375S really shines with is the 200 gr. Sierra flat point (yah, good luck finding any, I've been looking for about 7 months now) or the Hornady 220 gr. flat tip, also unobtainable.  The TTSX and TSX Barnes should open at 1800 fps and so will most plastic tipped bullets, so they all will work but their weight and operating range limits the distance that they will expand.  Of course, you don't need expansion to make a clean kill if the bullet has a good sized meplat, so any cast bullet with a wide long nose profile, LBT, is going to be devastating even if it does not expand.  The 270, 300, and up, of the lead cored variety need about 2400 fps to expand so they are not going to expand at the SOCOM velocities.  But they will penetrate well and a 3 / 8 inch hole is nothing to be trifled with.  I do not recall what velocities Tony was getting with anything but the 200 gr. Sierra but I think he has some listed on the above posted link.  The bullets I will be testing will be the 270 gr. Hornady Interlock (min 2400 fps needed for expansion), 255 gr. LBT Spitzer GC (will never expand), and 235 gr. Speer Hot Core.  I figure, the 255 gr. bullet for fun shooting and to see how it works with cast bullets, the Speer Hot Core for hunting applications (one of the better substitutes for the Sierra 200 gr. FT  or 220 Hornady FT since I cannot find any of either) and the 270 gr Hornady for penetration and to see just what they will do.  We'll see.

The mag capacities are the same as with the .458 SOCOM, 7 in a 20, 11 in a 30, 14-15 in a 40.  No magazine modifications needed at all.  Same bolt as the .458 SOCOM too.

I read the 375S was just waiting on dies to be made,  any time-frame when everything will be available.

Just waiting on Hornady.  They say 16 weeks and they took every bit of that with my .475 TREMOR sizer.  It has only been about a month since they actually took the money, so does that mean 16 weeks from placing the order (in which case time is getting short) or 16 weeks from when they take your money?  Don't know because when I ordered my set I paid with a check.

Big-Bore, what does the .458 SC run as far as MAP...? I believe I saw somewhere its around 35K PSI or so...I really like the concept of the .375 SC and with
Tony behind the wheel of this wildcat based on the .458 SC I feel it would make a great big bore AR-15 round and would feel very confident...I think this would
make a great large bore round for me as I am a fan of AR wildcats...Thanks.

It is the same as the .458 SOCOM, 35K psi so that the back thrust on the bolt lugs is the same as it is with the 5.56 cartridge.  For that reason the bolts are as long lived for the .458/.475/.375 as they are for the 5.56 round.  Also, at 35K you are not over stressing the hoop strength on the barrel extension and chamber walls do to the larger diameter of the .458 SOCOM case or any caliber based on that case.  And as we all know, lower pressures make for brass that last for a very long time.  I have cases with 12 loads on them and they are showing no signs of getting old.  When you get that many loads out of a case it makes that $0.80 each cost go down to almost nothing.  If mine give up the ghost tomorrow they would have only cost me 7 cents for each load (case cost).

Thanks for the quick reply Big-Bore...I'm really liking the looks of the .375 SOCOM so far...Will need to save up for a barrel kit or complete upper.
