I have been asked to do a presentation for my group at work about all the misinformation about gun laws in the media since Friday. I am looking for a pic that shows both a pre and post ban ar15 and another pic that shows the features that were banned. I have been all over and can't find what I want.

Thanks

You are probably looking for a pre-ban / post ban vs a ban era weapon... there is very little difference.  Magazine capacity is the main thing that the ban restricts.  That being said, the 1994 ban was a ban on features such as a pistol grip, bayonet lug, adjustable stock, ect.  A new ban is likely to be more intense than that.  It could be an outright ban on the weapon itself but we will have to keep an eye on it.

This sample pic is from google showing a Colt model AR6520 carbine model with pre ban features like the flash suppressor, bayonet lug, high cap mag, and collapsible buttstock.

This is a Colt Match Target model MT6520 carbine with post ban features, no muzzle device (a muzzle brake could be permanently installed), no bayo lug, 10 round or under capacity mag, fixed stock (permanently pinned collapsible stock could also be used).

Just google these two sample models that I shown and it should show you plenty of pics.

Not an AR but here's something one of the guys at RimfireCentral.com came up with that should help illustrate how ridiculous the definition of assault weapons is.  If you can't pull it off the post, PM me with you e-mail and I'll send the JPG file.

Can I suggest you show them a pic of a regular California AR 15 with a Bullet Button which makes it so you cant drop the mag without a tool.
