I was at a Georgia HTF shoot this past weekend (Oct 4) when I got a chance to really run my newest rifle (Colt 6920) through several mags and really put a few hundred rounds through it. I've had a few light strikes in the past just target shooting since I bought the rifle this past January and installed the SSA-E trigger before ever firing it. But I had that issue along with the trigger pin backing out during this past shoot. I discovered that the hammer spring was a lot lighter than the factory colt spring it replaced, that explains the light strikes. I noticed it wasn't engaging the detent in the trigger pin as well because it was not flexing enough to even touch it. By changing the spring, the hammer now has much more force and is actually in the detent of the trigger pin.
I have yet to run it, but by just putting pressure on the trigger pin now it is evident that it's capturing the hammer spring. And my issue seems resolved.
