On Dish ch. 384

She had to be one of the hottest things going back in the fifties.

I was 7 and I'm sure she was responsible for my first boner.

Some women never have it, some are mere flash in the pans but some rare women have beauty and class that lasts forever. Sophia is one of the latter.

Yes, she raised my staff more than a few times.

Now days though, she is probably considered overweight by the skin and bone lovers of Arfcom.

When Grumpier Old Men was released, I realized quickly that I would easily smash that.

Always had a thing for her.  She's a natural beauty.

Without a doubt.  Both Cary Grant and Charlton Heston were head-over-heels infatuated with her after working with her (Houseboat and El Cid).

She was in a movie with Sinatra and Peck, I think Pride and the Passion or something
like that. Had to do with a big cannon. Was one of my favorites.

The story I heard is that Heston was originally going to be the lead in Fall of the Roman Empire but Sophia Loren vetoed that due to the circumstances of their breakup.

Steven Boyd got the part instead (a great flick - much better than Gladiator which tells the same basic story, the rise and fall of Commodus).

Her son Edoardo was over for dinner at our house many years ago.  Went to film school with him.

Too haughty looking if she isn't smiling.

She was haughty.  That was a big part of her appeal.

I love that picture.

I think there's a similar one of Jean Simmons, another vintage beauty.

I'm pissed at her, she hasn't returned a single one of my letters! Neither has Gina Lollabrigida!
