I've never used an aperture sight before, and I purchased a Tech Sight for my Marlin 795.

I was wondering what is the appropriate sight alignment for this aperture sight?

before, I had the "rectangle" with the notch in it and the front post "completes" the rectangle and then that is how you line up your sight picture...

The beauty of aperture sights is your eye aligns them naturally.

So basically, if the front sight can be seen within the rear sight it's aligned?

The top of the post should be centered within the aperture. My point is that your eye will do this without you thinking about it. Look through the rear aperture, not at it.

I have a question related to the OP.

When shooting at distant or partially camouflaged targets I find it impossible to focus on the front sight exclusively while squeezing the trigger. Focusing on the sight causes me to lose the target in blur. With aperture sights should I just focus on the target or switch between the front sight and the target?
