Hi all,

I'm currently stuck nowhere near my pistols, but I do have a blue training aid pistol. Any way to maintain decent skills without actually putting holes in things? It's been 3 months already, and at least another 3 to go.

All help appreciated!

Hello AAFitArm,

There sure is a way as I used it when I was deployed... check this link out and if you have more questions give me a call or write me.

I don't know if you have a budget for this, but http://nextleveltraining.com/ makes a very nice training pistol.  I haven't been to the range in over a year (yay parenthood!), and their red/green trainer is really helping me maintain muscle memory.

fizassist,

How do you find the trigger break on those NLT guns? Realistic enough to emulate the real thing?

Practice by picking a target, then draw and see where your sights land.  I like to sit/stand in front of the t.v. while doing this. Aquire my target, draw and see how close my sights land on target.   I was taught this and use this method to prepare for pheasent hunts.

I don't think the bosses would take kindly to one of those, as good as they look.

That's more or less what I have been doing. I go through the motions of trigger squeeze, target transitions and mag changes, though I cannot actually perform them.
