| Who makes a decent spotting scope with a mil dot reticle. I'm not interested in spending anywhere near $1300 for the Leupold unit. In fact, who makes a cheap one that won't just fall apart or lose calibration? |

Major issues with quality control on them, so Bushnell put them on hold until it gets rectified. Lots of discussion on SH about it. I've had one on order for quite some time. |

I have had mine about 6 months- been very happy with it. It is solid, clear and although a bit heavy, it is not a "small" scope, and the FLP makes it fairly easy to manipulate.
The soft cover makes it easy to protect and and is great value for the scope. And the hard case just makes it that much better. The only drawback to the package is the tripod. It "will do", but it is pretty cheap for any serious work. Yes, the Mil-Dot version has been discontinued for quite some time now. Once in a while, you can find one pop-up in a classified ad. They "replaced" it with the FLP linked above - basically a hash reticle, but there were *very* significant QA issues with it and it had something on the order of a 75% failure/problem rate, so Bushnell stopped production to re-design it. It's currently not been re-released yet. I've been on the waiting list for one for about 6 months or so. No ETA yet on the release of the FLP version. |
