for the 1st time in the middle of Sept. What all should I take? I'll be driving out there so I can take most anything I want. I'll be taking the 2 day handgun and 4 day rifle course. I plan on shooting an XD 9mm pistol and a Spike's AR.
Do most ppl stay in Pahrump or LV? How many mags should I have? Long pants or shorts? Knee pads? Tennis shoes or boots? I prefer tennis shoes... Thanks! |
| In all seriousness, take all of your options since storage isnt an issue. Youll be on gravel all day so plan accordingly. And if you change your mind just go to the car and change. I wore tennis shoes and was fine. Dont worry about dressing all high speed. If taking the level 1 classes youll be thrown in with grandma and grandpa shooting their 380's. |

Read the website, it tells you what you need. I went in March and had a great time. Not sure what all the religious indoctrination shit is I keep hearing about, there wasn't any of that at all. Only sales pitch on the last day, and you don't have to listen to it if you don't want to. I'll go back again.
Have fun. Gonna be a warm bitch. |

Dress light and wear whatever you want, but you want a top that can conceal your handgun. Bring lots of mags so you don't have to keep reloading on the line, 5 would be good. If you have hard to load magazines, like my 10 round glock mags, bring a mag loader like a Lula, your thumbs will thank you at the end of the day. Lots of SPF since you'll be in the sun alot. I make my own sandwiches for lunch since you don't have much time to go out.
I stay in Vegas because it's a Hawaiian's paradise, but the 1 hour drive to and from is very tiring. If you don't need to be in Vegas then I would highly suggest Pahrump. |

There is BLM land just outside the gate. My understanding is Front Sight is working on the main gate so the old entrance is being used so you will have all the cars going through this area when you are there. So camping is an option. There are high winds, kicking up lots of dust and the cars coming in will dust you too I am sure.
Electronic Ear Pro. Helps you hear the instructors if you are at the end of the line. |
