Gonna do this again, as the last thread got disappeared when the overlords trimmed this subforum.

Came up with it to add a fitness component to practical shooting.

Devola's Five, drill is as follows:

Range:  50 yards
Target: 8" circle
Rounds: 5
Par time: 5 mins

Intended to be run with basic fighting kit, that is, armor, belt & helmet.

Start with rifle loaded w/ 5 rounds.

At start signal, run to target, touch target, run back to firing line, and fire one shot (standing or kneeling only, NO prone).  Repeat 4 more times.

PASS: all shots on target, under par time.

I'd like to see other folks run it, and get their feedback.  Best time for me so far is 3:45.

It doesn't seem like much, but after the 2nd or 3rd shot, it gets hard to stay stable, even if you're in decent shape.  Try it.

The idea of adding stress is good.
Breaking the firing line is bad at anything but a secure private range.

Make the runs parallel to the firing line, or a lap around a parking area.
When your post includes an insulting swipe at Boomers, nothing else you wrote is worthy of a read.

Keep your powder dry, and watch your back trail.

I'm watching my back trail.

Absolutely a consideration.  I don't use public ranges.

In a venue where folks know each other and have worked together, not a big deal.  "Big boy rules" apply, as we say.

But yes, the 50 yard run back and forth could be a track parallel to the firing line, and for extra measure the rifle could be placed on something while the running is being done.

ETA: or even perpendicular to the firing line , in the direction opposite the target, if you have the space.
