| I've trained kali in the Philippines and Malaysia and most practitioners I know just get local rattan furniture manufacturers to cut lengths of rattan for sticks. It's cheap and simple, and the whole idea of using the stick for training is as a substitute for a long parang/machete blade anyway. Kali/escrima originates from rural communities without gucci gear shops. |
